Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room didn't have a mini fridge. Aircon was extremely loud and was very hard to sleep with it on. Vue out of window looked into other rooms, meaning we had to keep our blinds closed.
Excellent location, housekeeping throughout stay.

United KingdomCharge for a mini fridge a bit unnecessary given overall price paid. Key cards needed replacing every time we returned to room. 2 bedroom suite had no doors on rooms so very open-plan. No issue but could be for some people.
Great location for exploring NY - walked to many sights and easy subway access. Fairly basic but met expectations. Both lifts working unlike many reviews so no issues there. Staff always helpful and coffee available from lobby shop.

United StatesOur first room we were given smelled smoky, so we changed rooms. The next was better. Also, our hair dryer was broken in the room we stayed in. Last, the "down" call button on the elevator didn't work on the 7th floor. We soon learned that we had to press the Up button to call the elevator.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was adequately sized. Better than some NYC hotel rooms I've stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Saudi ArabiaMy son had stayed there a day earlier, and he had been put up in the older wing... was much more 'tired-looking/feeling' than the one I was in (we compared notes). Perhaps they ought to flag, and have a differential charge.
Fantastic location. Also, seems there are two wings, and I was put up in the refurbished one. Room was nice (which is what you need).

We had a balcony and the room was spacious for a family of three. The location was fabulous for midtown close walk to park, shopping and great restaurants and food market.

PalauI was surprised the room was very clean compared to my last stay in New York where the hotel I stayed at had a very small room, the air condition did not work, and it costed more money than Shoreham.
The room was very clean and spacious. The location was excellent for what I was in New York for. I did not have breakfast at the hotel though.

United StatesHotel needs a little bit of renovation, the carpets in the room are old and stained.
Location is great, check in/out process super smooth and we could store our luggage for some time after checking out in the morning. A/C was working well and we had a room upgrade since the first one we got was a bit small.

United KingdomWe paid for a deluxe queen, but it felt like a standard room. Desk and wardrobe needed throwing out and replacing. Air con was noisy, but cold!! If planning to use take ear plugs.
Convenient location Very comfortable bed Helpful and friendly staff Toiletries in room and ice machine in lobby Nice little tuck shop onsite which serves hot Starbucks, which to be fair was better than getting it from the actual cafe. We had take our from the Chinese a few doors down and the portions were great

United StatesThe decor is really dated. The room carpets and furniture are due for replacement. It's an old building so the corridors are narrow and the elevator is tiny. Not much they can do about that, but just be aware. The rooms don't have much of a view. No fridge, coffee machine or microwaves in the rooms...assuming again because it's an old building the electric can't support it. But no coffeemaker?? There's no lounge area except for a couple of benches in the lobby, so just know this is a place to sleep, and no more.
First things first. The showers are amazing at this hotel. The water pressure is the best. It's like you're in a car wash, lol. 2nd time here, same experience. Also, the rooms are spacious, typically a suite with a separate seating area. Beds are comfortable. Staff are pleasant. Location is superb. Just steps from Central Park, Broadway, Times Square and 5th Avenue

United Arab EmiratesIt is an old hotel and one lift was not working so wait times could be as much as 5 minutes. The rooms were very basic and there was not even a kettle or a bottle of water in the room
I had upgraded to a suite and Hector at check in was very helpful. The lady at check out was also very helpful as were all the staff in the hotel. It was decently priced and well located.

GermanyNew York is very expensive, and so us this hotel - although there were many more expensive alternatives. The rooms are a bit dated, nothing fancy, no fridge. There is a restaurant at the ground floor, but no breakfast is offered.
The hotel is situated in Midtown Manhattan making many places easy to reach. Even with a window to the street the noise was not too loud. The reception is functioning 24 hours a day with friendly helpful staff. There is a small shop directly opposite of the reception selling drinks, snacks, and other useful things. The room was clean, sufficiently big. The air-conditioning worked well.

United KingdomThe decor/rooms are quite dated with scruffy carpet. We also missed having tea/coffee making facilities in the room- I didn’t think to check when booking as I presumed these would be available given the hotel is 4*. You can purchase hot drinks at the little shop inside the hotel.
The location of the property was perfect for us, a short walk from Times Square, Central Park & the other main attractions we visited during our short stay. The bedrooms & bathroom are decent sizes & the shower is really good! The staff were really helpful & polite.
