Room was a bit small but understandable considering the age of the building.

Clean but very dated building, didn’t pickup used towels or leave new clean ones

Very nice area, complimentary free shuttle to take you to restaurants or the race track, give you a number to call when you want to be picked up, very nice

Room had side door (closed) with noise coming through from hallway to other rooms at evening/morning. Also was situated close to elevator and because doors were old/light seeping through, one could here the "ping" from elevator every time it stopped/was called. Showerhead is very low, have to bend knees while showering head if tall person. When checking in, received a smaller bed/room than requested, but that was quickly corrected when complained.

Beautiful surroundings, historic, nice old rooms, very sophisticated athmosphere. Shuttle to town a big plus for dining and exlploring the surroundings. When checking in, received a smaller bed/room than requested, but that was quickly corrected when complained.

The facility is old which is part of the charm. However, the rooms could use a little face lift.

Great location. Friendly helpful staff. The shuttle service is a nice feature.

We arrived at 3pm on a very hot afternoon and the hotel bar was not open yet, so we had to walk to the golf club (5 min) to get a cold drink. When we returned to the hotel after the show at SPAC the hotel bar had literally just closed (10pm), would not serve us, no exceptions, would not sell us a bottle of beer to drink in the spacious lobby. Next time we will bring our own cooler with drinks.

The location to SPAC made it all worthwhile.

The rooms, especially the bathroom, need a little overhaul. People over 5'5" don't fit in the shower and the sink is pretty slow.

It's a nice "old school" hotel in a very nice area. Food was really good and taking a walk or running around here is amazing!

Our room door was very hard to open, it was sticking to the door frame. It was very loud when opening and closing shut. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan to remove smells and humidity after showering. Also, the shower head sprayer is too low and you have to bend your body unnaturally to get your head wet. We are barely 6 foot tall. How about installing hand held shower heads? The windows are so old that we felt the glass would fall out of them when opening and closing for ventilation. The air conditioning unit was too too loud- not quiet at all and prevented us from getting deep sleeps.

Clean , neat, upscale. Professional staff. Shuttle drivers amazing, shuttle service amazing, front desk staff amazing, coffee in lobby amazing. Beautiful location near the park and the Victoria pool.

The property is tired and premium priced due to location. Carpeting in the guest hallways is old and worn, bathroom was old and cheaply updated, the A/C in the room was marginal and the one working elevator was pretty slow. All to be expected in an old building but the promise of the luxury experience this is supposed to be goes unfulfilled.

Hotel staff is very nice and genuinely appear to care about what they do.

    Hotel with a split personality
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Deluxe King Room

Unfortunately, the guest rooms are not up to the standard of the property and give the hotel a “split personality.” The drab generic furniture in the rooms is far from historic or elegant, and the bathroom was unacceptable. The card in the bathroom stated that they kept the “historic nature of the bathrooms” but that’s no excuse for a dirty and poorly finished room.

The hotel is in a nice location if you want to visit the events at SPAC. It’s within walking distance. If you want to go to downtown Saratoga, the hotel provides a shuttle bus that will pick you up on demand for a ride back. Great to have dinner downtown and be picked up after. The driver, Pete, was also the person who welcomed us to the hotel. He is a gem!! Public areas of this historic hotel are wonderful.

The rates should have been half since the elevators were both down. The two main elevators are under construction. The only other elevator was the manned service elevator that took extremely long to get up and down from the third floor. We mostly used the stairs. Poor management and poor customer treatment with having the elevators modernized over the busiest part of the year. It was very disappointing.

The hotel is clean and beautiful. It’s a real throw back in time. I would absolutely love to return.

Plumbing a little lacking I my room. Would like room service but restaurant will pack up food to go.

Location was perfect for me. Very short walk to SPAC. It is a historic property (old), but we'll maintained. I had a few issues but the staff was very responsive and friendly. Would stay there again if I go to another concert at SPAC.

The location of the property is wonderful as it is very close to SPAC, the golf course, etc. The hotel itself is dated and needs some work. There was visible water damage in the ceiling of our room and in the restaurant. No vent in the bathroom made everything very sticky and kind of smelled like mildew. You have to park about 100 yards away from the front door so you need to drop your bags off first and as I watched others there was very sporadic staff around to help. My biggest gripe, however, was the bar/restaurant. We were treated very rudely by a staff person named Therese who I’m assuming was the manager. Last year she made our party move tables twice stating that they needed to keep the tables open for “other guests” even though we were paying $500/night to stay there. She also started closing the bar at 10:45 when dozens of people were just getting back from the show. I watched as she literally closed the door in peoples faces including mine when I got up to use the bathroom and she told me if I left I wouldn’t be allowed back. I’m assuming this had to be one of if not their busiest nights of the year, made no sense and I told her so. Overall, dated hotel that is able to overcharge based on its great location.

The main elevator has been out for a while and the staff is happy to help use the vintage service elevator, but I am not used to keeping a bunch of small bills on hand to tip for every elevator ride. It’s awkward.

The location is unbeatable and I love the historical charm of the hotel.

A/C did not work well at night. Room not cool enough. We called for a fan. Someone said they would look for one but never responded. Elevators was broken so thankfully; we were on the first floor as we are in our late 70’s. Service elevator did work; however
