How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was clean, the heater worked well. A standard motel room, nothing to add. There were tourist brochures at the reception. It helped us greatly to choose the sites in Monterey we're going to visit.

It was a bit noisy, you can hear everything around and there was a lot of light going into the room through the blinds

It is a little bit of a noisy area. If you’re a light sleeper, ear plugs or a noise canceling device is probably a good idea. I’d like it if the room number isn’t said out loud to me. It wasn’t an issue, but as a single traveler, I’d prefer that others don’t know my room.
Location was perfect. I could get to many places quickly to go exploring.

The room was very clean and quiet. We were attending the Monterey Jazz festival the inn was only about 10 minutes away a very good location for that event.

The sheets smelled a bit like they were left in the washer a little too long but it was tolerable.

Bed was a little wore out....side next to night stand definitely has had more use than other side as the mattress sunk in on that side.

Pets cost $40.00 per day per pet Lots of car noise Plenty of homeless people hanging out in the surrounding streets. Not enough parking onsite. Overflow parking located across the street in the restaurant parking lot
Clean room, ample towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave all as advertised. Free Wifi with plenty of USB ports

In more of commercial retail area but close driving distance ti everything
This is an old motel but room was completely updated very nicely. ITT is a no frills motel but price is good for visiting family in the area. It is in a retail area but everything close by with car. This motel has lovely flowers throughout property if your looking for clean place to stay at good price good option.

View and location less than ideal as placed on industrial road (car repair places across road) but the extras and nearby shopping center behind the car repair places made up for that - along with watching the nesting gulls on one repair places sign 😁
The staff was very responsive (needed help with key immediately left office to check out why not working (new battery needed), extra blanket provided along with extra towels, when checked in gave LOTS of info about attractions and restaurants nearby) also room cleaned every day if we wanted that - nice change from other hotels esp where sand prevalent, a recycle container in room, BALCONY- was more handy than we first expected, while view was road it was nice way to get natural light and breeze and use chairs to start day outside with breakfast, while lots of places to eat nearby we used microwave and kurig to begin day - fridge good sized and had a usable sized freezer

There are only two thing I would change. First, I spilled water on the room floor. Thank goodness the floor was tile. When I wiped up the water, the paper towels were rather dirty. So I would suggest the floors need more attention. The second would be newer towels.
We stayed here for two night's on our family trip. The room was large and comfortable with a good size refrigerator. It was quiet. I appreciate there was laundry facilities and an ice machine. The staff accommodated us with rooms on the first floor.

Bed was a little uncomfortable but other than that, nothing to complain about.
Good location. Close to the beach and stores. A plus was that Costco was near by. Also loved the keurig coffee machine.
