The parking is a bit tight. I have a full size SUV and was okay, but a large truck would be challenging.

The staff was amazing, extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful. I was able to get a late check out at the last minute with no additional charge. They drop off fresh pasties and a thermos of coffee to your door every morning at 7:30, both were delicious. Location is great, very walkable to downtown SLO shops and restaurants.

The room was west facing and it was HOT in the afternoon. We couldn't figure out how to turn the AC on and the young man at the front lobby wasn't able to help (he moved an extra fan up to the room). One other training tip for the staff: don't reveal to other guests where your room is located! As I waited in the lobby to ask about the room's temperature, a woman was checking in. She relayed that the last time she was a guest, there was a family above her with little kids who ran around so much (and so late into the night) that neither she nor her husband could sleep. Then she inquired about whether there was a family staying above her this time around. Unsure of what to say, the young man turned to me and said: "You're above her - do you have little kids?" I did not - but I could imagine that if I did - I might very well have been defensive. Furthermore, it's inappropriate to reveal where various guests stayed. More training would be appropriate.

The room was beautifully appointed with luxurious touches. We loved the convenient location - very proximate to the freeway and not too far from the downtown or Cal Poly.

The motion sensor switch in the bathroom was annoying. I couldn’t figure out how to disable it but would have liked to. A little noisy from upstairs neighbors clomping around.

Only thing I’d really suggest is changing their tv system. We were looking forward as a family to stay in and watch movies after a day of excursions. We couldn’t get our Netflix account to work.. remote wasn’t working.. it was a bit frustrating. There was nothing to watch.. few regular tv channels with back to back commercials.. It’s one of the highlights of being in a hotel room is to watch movies .. I really hope they change that.

2nd time staying here. It’s really great in all areas. It’s a great place to stay. Showers are amazing, products are wonderful, the coffee and pastries delivered early morning is a wonderful touch.. the rooms are nicely decorated, the beds are super comfortable with plenty of pillows..

As the room had just been updated and we were the first to stay in it, the new floor had an unusual smell. We asked for a scented candle to diffuse the odour and were given one. Nice touch.

The staff were very communicative, and the room was spacious. I loved the bath amenities and the in room snacks from Erewhon. The design of the hotel is very beautiful.

Not a deal breaker by any means, but I wish our room had more plugs near the beds. One side of the bed had no wall outlets, and the other side had a charging dock with USB 3.0 plugs. A lot of devices today use USB-C so we had to find other spots around the room to charge our phones and other devices. Other than that, which wasn't really an issue, there really wasn't anything to not like! It was a great hotel that I will definitely recommend to friends and stay at again.

The hotel was very clean and well decorated. The staff was very kind and attentive. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the room itself was very nice. I wish we stayed longer! The hotel is very close to Cal Poly, and a very easy drive or cheap Lyft ride into downtown or beyond. They offer bikes for you to use (included in a flat rate of $16 that you can opt to pay when you check in that gets you parking on-site, morning coffee and pastries delivered to your room, use of the bikes, wifi, and use of an off-site gym). The morning coffee and pastries was a nice touch. There doesn't seem to be any place to eat or drink on the hotel premises, but this area of SLO has countless restaurants and a few breweries/cocktail bars within a few steps of the lobby so it is no issue.
