How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The commode was low for those who can't stoop and are handicap. Definitely not enough parking. The parking area was linked to a pathway for people to walk through and some of the people were questionable. The motel is hidden behind another motel, was a little difficult to locate.
The bed was ok. Not noisy.

Shower was broken, but it was fixed very swiftly.
Great location! Mount Rushmore is close to, just a short car ride up. Also it’s possible to walk from hotel to the town’s Center. As for hotel itself, it quite dated, furniture is old and maybe carpet but work off, but it was clean and for one night was quite good. Gives some extra charm ;D

Easy to find, 10 min ride to Mount Rushmore and town center (restaurant, shops). Easy parking, fine breakfast, very kind staff. Clean!

Liked everything. I would stay their again.
The room was nice and clean. The front desk people were very nice and helpful. The breakfast the next morning was good (classified as Continental). Way past Continental. We looked at the pool and sauna area. Very nice. Did not use, but was very nice. Pricing was good also. Close to downtown.

The floor in the room was hard so I had to wear shoes in the room. Don't order food from Boss's if you are there they cancelled my online order and did not even notify me. The cost for the hotel was also pretty high, although the whole area was like that.
The staff was helpful and nice. The rooms were satisfactory and fit our needs. The breakfast was also good. The pool was nice and refreshing.

The mouse / mole who tried to get into my room when I was bringing my luggage in!
Location was great. When I returned from the evening lighting ceremony, there were no parking spots. I went to the front desk to ask where I was supposed to park. He The mouse / mole moved his POV so I could park. What a great gesture! I don’t recall his name but he was driving a silver SUV.

I was disappointed that the fireplace didn't work, and there were several lightbulbs missing, the dresser handle was broken. The room was great but it needed some maintenance, including the shower tub, it leaked. So as much as this is minor it sends an overall upkeep image. I wished they had switched up the hot items for breakfast, we got sick of the eggs and gravy and biscuits every morning. The cereal options were nice. They really need much bigger coffee cups!! they were like 6 oz!
Convenience to Mt. Rushmore and surrounding areas was really nice. Good local options for shopping and dining. The room was a good size and accomodated our family of 5 nicely, we liked that there were 2 sinks, a refrigerator, and a microwave and plenty of mirrors. There were laundry facilities and vending if needed. Though I would've preferred our room to have outside windows as I felt it was a bit stuffy. I liked that they had a fridge in the lobby for drinks and food to charge to your room for a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly.

Breakfast was the same all 3 mornings we were there powdered eggs canned sausage gravy and biscuits no waffles maker some variations would be nice we had a whirlpool suite but tub looked dingy like it needed a good deep clean so we didn’t use the rest of the room was clean
It was close to Rushmore and a short walk to everything in hill city. Room was comfortable
