There were 3 of us, so one of us was sleeping on the sofa bed, which we were expected to pull out & make ourselves which was disappointing, especially after a long flight. The hotel is 5 star but missed quite a few 5 star touches, for example complimentary water in the room. Also the toilet/changing room at the rooftop wasn’t as clean as it should have been.

Brilliant location & we stated in the Royalton Park Suite which was a good size. The rooftop pool was also cute.

The sunbed frames were dirty and the general area was grubby. The biggest issue was the attitude of the staff in the rooftop pool and bar area. They all had a serious attitude. It was as if they were trained by a different company.

It had a great rooftop pool, terrace and bar. The front-of-house staff concierge and housekeeping were excellent.

Nothing note worthy

The hotel’s location was fantastic, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafés to choose from. The room was ideal for me and my 13-year-old son, spacious, with a king-size bed and a very comfortable sofa bed. Even when the sofa was pulled out, there was still plenty of room to move around, especially that we stayed there for a couple of weeks. The closet space was another pleasant surprise, which is nearly impossible to find in NYC! On top of that, the staff were warm and welcoming. I’ll definitely be staying here on every trip to New York.

Poor bed quality! One bedroom suite had a hard, loud bed and the pullout couch mattress was thin and the bar ran right across one’s chest. Too many closets. No mirrors.

We spent 8 nights at the royalton. It was amazing. The pool is amazing! Our 6 years old daughter loved it ( close at 6pm for the kids before they serve alcohol but that’s fine anyway). The bed is very comfortable. The location is perfect to visit New York ( using the public transportation or by walking). I would recommend staying there!!!!

Good option if you want a hotel with a pool. Location is ok, but next to the tube station. Rooms are not very new but the bed is great. The shower pressure is not so high. The manager is very helpful.

The mattress and pillows are dead. They need to be replaced or at least rotated. I slept at the foot of the bed so that there was better weight resistance and didn’t sink as much.

The pool area is very small and not so clean. You should book sunbeds if you want to relax there. The room is rather small,but for Manhattan it is ok.

Very good location-just near the subway station,you can also reach the center by foot. Lot of good restaurants nearby, supermarket,cafes. The rooftop bar is good,the breakfast in restaurant (not included in price of the room) is also good and not so expensive. The coffee machine in the room. You can open windows and it is very good for Manhattan

The pool area gets very crowded with nice weather and is not too spacious, so that is the only downside, but everything else, just great.

for a 5 star hotel, i expect there to be more than 1 person checking guests in at check-in time, when it's busiest. I had a kid, 3 bags, 2 backpacks, and no one opened the lobby door for me. I watched the staff just look at me, no one offered to help. The service is just not 5 stars.

No free water in the room, but they offered complimentary in-room coffee, which I later found out that is covered by a resort fee that the hotel charges, so why not offer the water bottle complimentary as well.
