Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandArea is not the nicest, some fellow guest had a huge argument while we were there at night that went on for over an hour, and could be heard in all the rooms, was a bit disruptive and felt uncomfortable. Exterior of the place could do with an upgrade
staff at desk were very helpful, gave us a free room upgrade and the room was very nice and clean

NetherlandsThough parking was provided, we did have to pay a surprising fee of $30 per night. The parking did have cameras but was opened to the streets, I was honestly afraid my car was going to be broken into or something. The room was clean-ish. The bathroom unfortunately didn’t have a brush to clean up after ourselves and the floor creaked a little.
The location was perfect, smack dab in the middle of San Fran. We were able to walk to most public transport in about 10 minutes. The staff was friendly and was able to give us pointers to nearest locations such as public transport, clubs and others . Although right next to a busy street, you can hardly tell in the room itself. If we had been bothered, SoMa had already provided earplugs. There were several locks on the door and the doors to the elevator and stairwell were only able to be opened by the keycard, which helped us feel a little more safe.

United StatesNo receipt upon check out. I don’t use my credit card but I used it because they ask for one to check in and for some reason fraud started happening after couple of hours after I used it there.
It was easy to reserve and clean room for the most part.

United StatesThe location. The facility is good, but we were woken up by some interesting people pretty early, in the parking lot... the owner did the best he could to relieve the problem but couldn't do much. Overall for the price, staff and how clean it was the made up for it.
Clean, comfortable beds. Friendly staff.

United StatesThe outside of the property definitely could use more upkeep. Lots of garbage flowing through the parking area. I’ve never quite experienced staff at a property so discouraging and unwelcoming to complete stay at their property.
The rooms were very clean and seemed to have been updated recently.

United StatesThe neighborhood feels pretty sketchy - especially on 9th Street. It's on the corner of 9th and Mission. If walking, we suggest getting there by walking on 7th or 8th, and then Mission to the Inn, rather than walking on 9th St. Also, our room was very loud, which was maybe just bad luck. We were next to the stairs and elevator. There was a group of guests in the room above us that talked loudly while making repeated trips up and down the stairs every half hour or so (perhaps to smoke?). Plus, the floor in their room (above us) squeaked loudly. I know that a hotel/motel can't always control over their guests. However, I had requested the upper floor when I made the reservation over 2 months prior to our stay, but we were not put on the upper floor (which would have helped with the noise level). Our situation required us to stay close to where our appointment was, as inexpensively as possible. It still seemed pretty expensive - but it was downtown San Francisco, And, as I said, the inside of the room itself was nicer than what the neighborhood or exterior seemed. So, a mixed bag.
This review is difficult. We had to fly to San Francisco for a visa application appointment, and were on a tight budget in a very expensive city, and I realize that you get what you pay for. This is a very basic 60's-ish motel. No amenities other than what was in the room. The room itself was actually ok - updated bathroom was clean, the bed comfortable enough, had a table to work at, microwave, mini-fridge. The blanket was the thinnest blanket I have ever seen. It would have been nice to have a thicker blanket or an extra blanket. It was a fairly convenient walk from the BART station and bus lines on Market St.

United StatesGreat location if you're going to the Bill Graham auditorium. A quick walk to the venue. Staff made check in/out very easy! They do only accept credit cards, which is standard. Parking in their lot is $30 a day and a huge relief from the headache of finding safe parking in SF.

United StatesThis location in downtown SF is extremely unsafe. Fentanyl addicts have invaded this area. Doesn't matter day or night, it's sadly full of homelessness. I always felt very unsafe and was very alert walking to the motel. They charge $30 for parking in site per day. The parking is completely accesible from the street and there's no security. If you park here, DON'T leave any of your belongings in your vehicle. SF has a very high rate of car break-ins. Room was very dusty, not clean. Fridge was broken. Pictures look way fancier and well-lit than the actual rooms.
They provide towels, shampoo and body gel. Hard to find anything else for this price.
