Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI didn't know that there was a parking fee, and none of the staff mentioned/asked if I had a car to register to the hotel. I got a parking notice/ticket for the first night in their parking lot. The front desk said that I didn't have to pay for the first night but will have to pay for the second night ($40, I think).... Also the sofa bed, according to my son, wasn't very comfortable.
The room was very spacious and clean, and I appreciated that there were many places (chairs/seats) to sit in the room. The breakfast options were great and I appreciated the fresh fruit. The pool was nicely heated (even at night). The exercise room was clean and well kept; the machines worked like new.... Also, although our room was on the ocean side (but had street view because we were on the first floor), I didn't hear any train or airplane noises, so I really appreciate that!

CanadaIt didn't happen every day, but on Sundays, breakfast time is shorter, and they started cleaning up after breakfast and taking things away even though we hadn't had time to eat them. The kids wanted milk and cereal, which the staff hid and didn't give us even though we asked. I think that on Sundays, breakfast should be longer and stress-free.
Location close to atraction and waterfront park, comfortable room, clean, servis room amazing .

GermanyThe facility is a bit older, but this was acceptable. The AC was very loud in the room and the bathtub exhibited some rust. I believe some updates to the room's interior might be beneficial.
Great location, which makes enjoying San Diego very convenient. The hotel crew were helpful and kind, the served breakfast was good and perfectly enough.

United StatesRooms bathroom and carpet could be redone, magnet card door a bit outdated. Bathtub showers we had in 1990 not today’s standard, neither the toilet that is for dwarfs. Breakfast could rotate some other warm options like gravy.

United StatesThe only thing I would suggest is to get a more comfortable mattress on the pull out couch as that was a little uncomfortable with the hard springs.
Our view was breathtaking of the SD harbor. The full kitchen was great and the room was spacious. The location was great being walking distance to the Harbor and Little Italy. Nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptional as so accommodating.

MexicoThe noise of the room! The AC was unbearable and therefor we turned it off to sleep. The refrigerator was SO NOISY! again we turned it off to sleep. The room was physically vibrating the whole time, I suspect from the AC units from all the other rooms. Even using very good earplugs the vibrations emanating through the walls and floors would wake me and I'm not a light sleeper. I did ask for a room switch but the hotel was full and they couldn't accommodate this request. For this reason alone I would choose a different hotel for my next visit to San Diego.
The location is excellent. It's very close to the Little Italy trolley station which gives you access to all public transport. The breakfast was good with hot and fresh options. The ladies did an excellent job of keeping everything topped up! The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice with lots of loungers and tables.

United StatesThe fridge was dented, the bathroom lighting was a bit like a strobe light whenever it first came on. One bathroom had an uneven tub with standing water in the lower part.
The park across the street with free equipment to check out at the front desk was an unexpected perk! The location right on the bay was beautiful. The rooms were spacious!

NetherlandsThe rooms are so old, The double beds tiny. And our door was always stuck when you completely closed it, We had to fight hard to open it. Also there was an awful smell I think coming from the carpets every time you entered the room. The whole building needs a serious upgrade.
I LIKED THE POOL AREA AND THE BBQ. And my kids loved the cookies at the reception. The basket ball pitch across was also interesting.

AustraliaNo safes within hotel rooms and were located at reception, however staff were unable to open them so we couldn’t store our passports etc securely. Staff weren’t overly friendly and breakfast was nice but super busy/cramped with limited seats and tables.
