Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The hotel is super nice and very typical of Marriott properties. It's a Residence Inn so of course it's really a little efficiency apartment which was perfect in terms of space and amenities. We chose it because it is dog friendly and it is very near the pedestrian mall area. There is on site parking in a lot and a garage and there is a nearby grassy area to walk dogs. All the staff we very friendly and helpful. It is worth noting that the hotel is on a very busy corner with traffic lights in downtown Charlottesville. Our dog friendly room was on the second floor (great for easy access for potty breaks) and overlooked one of the side streets where there was noise from traffic stopping and starting at the light. This is to be expected in a busy city, and we are not light sleepers so this did not bother us. If you are a light sleeper though, ask for a room away from the corner or maybe one on a higher floor.

United StatesBummer we couldn’t‘t stay longer to really enjoy facilities
Walking distance to mall, spacious rooms, well equipped (kitchen), comfortable bed, good selection for breakfast with particularly nice service. We met A person, who was on a longer stay and we can understand why

United StatesWhen we visited before the pandemic, the hotel had a bar and happy hour. We were expecting the same, but it has stopped offering them.
The hotel is well maintained and in a great location.

United StatesMy room on the 3rd floor was on the quieter part of the hotel but windows are anything but soundproof- could hear a concert in the distance and cars on the road below. This was my only real complaint.
Convenient location; modern spacious lobby; great breakfast though I’m personally not a fan of thin omelette turnovers. Great variety and delicious oatmeal with every topping imaginable. Parking only $10 and was able to leave car in lot for 4 hours after checking out. Very nice kitchenette and plenty of electric outlets everywhere. Well lit parking lot.

United StatesI did not like being charged for parking and not being told about it when making the reservation. That was annoying.
The breakfast was very good. Croissant sandwiches with egg and ham or egg and sausage were good. Enjoyed that there was fruit also. Scrambled eggs were good - did not taste like the powdered kind. The women who worked helping with breakfast were very friendly and nice. Natalie at the front desk was great - very helpful. Wonderful customer service.

IrelandI hadn't checked the website fully so I didn't realise there was no bar or restaurant. Ideally they would have a shower/changing room option at the pool too.
. Rooms were great, spacious with full cooking facilities. Location was superb, 2 mins walk from downtown. Nice continental breakfast but 9am finish time was too early in my opinion. Not a huge selection but enough for our needs

United StatesEvery Marriott I stay in needs luggage racks or a bench to place your luggage on. I hate having to put my dirty suitcase on the bed to unpack. You have beautiful white linen and I’m afraid I’ll ruin it.
The bed is comfortable and the down feather pillows are awesome.

SpainThey gave us a very noisy room, and despite requesting a change several times, they refused, arguing that the hotel was fully booked. This may have been true the first two days (it was the weekend), but false the next two days, as it wasn't fully booked. We didn't feel they were accommodating our just and logical request. Bad

United StatesI am allergic to dogs with asthma if I am exposed. I was told, when I made the booking, that the hotel would be advised to try to find a room that hadn’t had dogs for the last few guests—that notes to that effect would go to the hotel. When I arrived the front desk said no notes had arrived, and that there was only room left that could might have had a dog. I suffered from asthma all night. Thanks for nothing!

United StatesThe hotel is strategically located downtown, beautifully decorated, and offers large common areas indoors and out. Every corner is comfortable and enjoyable. The pool was well equipped and heated. The minimal hiccup was our room: beautiful but felt a little tight... after adding a pack & play for my 7 months old baby. Our bed was a little too cushy, probably what most people prefer, we like a firm mattress. But everything else was just great. Finally the staff was incredible and room service was outstanding. All our room requests were fulfilled in no time.
