Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI’m fairly certain the hotel was converted from a small office building. The lobby is small and the corridors are narrow. When I was there in July, the hotel was full of young tourists who were sometimes quite noisy and tended to be oblivious to other people, especially older folks like me.
The location is great. The hotel is in a fascinating part of Manhattan and incredibly convenient for public transportation. The room was comfortable and well air conditioned; an essential for a hot week at the end of July. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

IrelandThe room wasn't very clean, there were hairs on the bathroom floor. The room itself is a bit rundown, the carpets are old, the bathroom door was cracked. The AC unit was a bit temperamental, it was running at max but it was barely cool enough.
Close to the subway and located near many restaurants.

United StatesWe knew it would be small, it’s New York but for the price we paid we could have got somewhere much bigger our fault for not looking into this enough. I know you only sleep in the room BUT there isn’t even room for suitcases in the room. The hotel is not worth the price. Restaurant was not available also. The shower in our room was not clean at all and water went all over the floor (to the point the bathroom was soaked) The same thing happened to family in another room so just a faulty design.
The location is good and the front desk staff friendly.

United StatesNo mini fridge We would have felt more comfortable with a locked check in bag system. Not the hotels fault, but parking garages in New York are horrible. Used their recommended parking garage and it was close. But we were not prepared for locking the car away for the duration of our trip and having to keep our bags on us to the hotel since our car was in a non-accessible parking. Since we were on a road trip, we had all our gear in the car, and had planned on returning to grab our bags at our leisure and have access to gear, but unable to because of the parking garage. So forewarning from the hotel service as they recommended the garage would have allowed us to start our trip off better. Again. Not on the hotel, but it was based on their recommendation and guests would appreciate the knowledge for future bookings
Inexpensive hotel in downtown Manhattan. Location was key, and the price was right. Room was clean and tidy, and what we expected. Staff was New York friendly, but helpful. Staff offered to check our bags since we arrived early. We really appreciated that!

United KingdomPhotos looked different to the actual room which was much smaller. Walls were dirty and just looked run down in general. The heater in the room was very old, made lots of noise and caused our skin to become very dry.
Location was convenient.

United StatesThe complimentary breakfast was far inferior than it showed online. Only coffee, room temperature yogurt, and some dry muffins. I only had my room cleaned once during my stay and after they cleaned, it was still dirty. They didn't throw any garbage away that was on a side table, didn't clean the shower, sink, or counter. And definitely didn't vacuum. Seems like all they did was give me fresh towels, made the bed, and emptied the garbage can. Makes me question how clean it was when I checked in.
It was located close to my office and was a decent size for a NY hotel room.

United StatesI asked for a one bed and they gave me two beds but that wasn't much of a big deal.
I like that my room was nice and clean me and my partner was very comfortable and warm. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I also enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. The fact that it's in Time Square made the experience even better. I would definitely book a room at this hotel again soon and I highly recommend it to my friends and family.
