How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation great, porters and old time feel, fabulous.
No breakfast or something simple like muffins/fruit which could 🤔 have made it nicer for the price.

Verified reviewGreat location and the staff was very nice. Clean room, comfy bed, overall tasteful decor.
There are multiple signs of an overdue facelift. Some peeling paint, the plumbing in the shower was loose, and the extractor fan in the restroom was ticking like it's on its last leg.
Thank you for staying with us. We are in the process of upcoming renovations! If you are ever back this way, come check it out! We appreciate your feedback!

Smelled bad and felt damp. Old furnishings. Even though antiques they were in poor shape. One of my dresser drawers was missing a drawer pull. The upholstery was faded and the drapes were dingy and frayed.
We are in the process of upcoming renovations. Please if ever back this way, stop by and check it out. Thank you for your feedback!

Verified reviewBeautiful room, comfortable twin beds, in and out valet service for the car, social hour was an unexpected bonus (free wine!), convenient location - we were able to walk everywhere. I slept so well in the cool of the AC after 2 days of walking in the heat. The best feature was the fantastic staff. During our two night stay we interacted with 5 welcoming staff members who all made me feel so welcome and appreciated as a guest. Thank you!
When the AC was cranking the room was very comfortable but cold. Not a huge deal as we used the bath robes!! However, when we tried to turn it down just a touch, there was a musty, stuffy feel. Not a big deal as it was 97% humid the week we visited so we just kept the AC on to do its job.
Thank you for staying with us. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed your visit to Historic Savannah. I totally agree with you on that AC in this lovely, humid, southern summer...it's a must have! I will be sure to pass along your kind words to the staff. We appreciate your feedback, and please, if ever this way again, do come back!

It was freezing and damp, even after turning off the AC. The hotel lobby and corridors felt unnecessarily cold upon entering. By the end of my two-day stay, the room’s temperature had somewhat stabilized—though it remained chilly and damp, even having turned off the AC for two days.

Verified reviewIn the middle of everything. Convenient to walk
Put a hold on credit card and we had to get our card co. Involved. They wouldn’t release hold for incidentals we didn’t use, even after several calls
Thank you for staying with us. I do apologize for the issues you had with the incidental hold. As soon as you check out, we release it on our end. Unfortunately, sometimes it can take up to 7 business days before the banks recognize it, especially if it's a debit card. Again, my apologizes! We appreciate your feedback!

Verified reviewThe hotel is situated between the riverfront and the main shopping street. It is an old , character building with an interesting history. The beds were comfortable and water pressure in the rooms was good. The room was large. The front desk staff were friendly enough and the young fellow who sorted out our room change couldnt have been more helpful.
We experienced a number of issues. Our room cards repeatedly failed and had to be reset. Our original room, Room 307 had water dripping from the light fitting in the wardrobe and the room smelled damp and musty. The staff arranged for us to move to another room, which was appreciated. You have to request for housekeeping to visit your room to clean up change towels etc. It was to be requested by 9am the day before. We were not told about this when booking or checking in. The rooms dont have refrigerators and they dont provide tea in the rooms. Only coffee. The biggest problem was traffic noise from boy racers late on the Saturday night we arrived and headlights from cars in the adjacent car park lighting up our room. It is a historical place with plenty of character but a few too many issues for us.
Thank you for staying with us. First, I do apologize for the issues with the leak. Due to the heavy rains, we have been experiencing, at times, these older historic buildings do have seeping wind and rains through the structures. We are in the process of some renovations to correct these issues. As for the garage, we have no control over the noise, and yes, it can be annoying on the weekends in the very popular historic district for both locals and tourist. I do apologize for the issues you encountered with the noise. If you are back this way, please come by and check out the new renovations after the first of the year! Again, thank you for staying with us!

Verified reviewThe location was excellent! Nice view, close to the waterfront and walking distance to City Market. The valet parking and the friendly staff made the stay worry free. The bell hops went the extra mile with service. Happy hour in the lobby with free wine and snacks was a bonus.
There was no mini fridge or microwave.
Thank you for staying with us. We do have some upcoming changes! If you're ever back this way, come stay with us again and check it out! I'll be sure to pass along your kind words! We appreciate your feedback!

Verified reviewThe Planters Inn was an excellent choice. It is a small, southern hotel in the heart of the historic district. Very walkable to everything. The staff were friendly and my room, with a four postered bed and large bathroom, was perfect! There is also a refrigerator and glass cups and glasses. During the week there is wine and cheese in the lobby. I will stay at Planters Inn again!
I wasn’t thrilled with having to request ice being brought to the room but I adjusted
