Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesNot sure if anything could have been done to prevent this, but the fire alarm went off early in the morning. I stepped out of the door and the elevator had already been blocked. So not sure if there was a fire drill or an actual emergency. Alarm shut off fairly quickly, though.
Room was immaculate and smelled amazing. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Very knowledgeable about the property and area.

United StatesFor next time, I would ask for the second floor. The first floor was loud. We had our dog with us, so he kept barking as people were talking outside our window and door. It was a full hotel, so many people talking. Even though beds were comfortable, we didn't get great sleep because our dog was on alert. Mostly, I was disappointed in the pool area. Water was cloudy. Many people used it that day (hotel was full), and it showed. We went in and swam for 30min, but regretted it.
We chose this hotel for the evening reception with drinks and the breakfast with made to order omelets. It was wonderful. The room had a comfortable king bed and a comfortable pull out couch for the kids. I was pleased to get food from the bar ( pizza was a very reasonable price) instead of having to go somewhere after a long drive in. They had gated parking with security. I guess it may not be the safest area, but I felt safe. We came with our dog. I wish they had outside seating for breakfast. We had to take turns eating because you can't leave animals alone in the hotel room. So that was disappointing, especially since we paid extra to have our dog. That being said, they do have a nice fenced in dog area that was convenient for potty breaks.

United StatesActually, the elevators were a bit dirty and one was out of commission.
Beds were excellent, room was large. Reception evening was great. Food at their restaurant was very good. The breakfast probably would have been very good except the staff failed to have it competely set up by 0700. The scrambled eggs were a bit wet and the orange juice was terrible. The pancakes however were very good. Security for the parking is outstanding. The best thing was the staff. They were friendly and welcoming.

United StatesMy only suggestion would be an area rug on the hard stone floor, it looks beautiful and it is easier to keep clean and I really appreciate that, it just makes for an echoey sleeping space.
We upgraded our room to the deluxe, it was huge. We loved the dining table and chairs. We had a couple of rooms for our group and it was really excellent to have more space to congregate between events. The front desk was also able to keep our rooms relatively close, so my little one could go back and forth to grandma's and it was a real treat for him to have that access.

United StatesThe pool and hot tub need some love. There was a lot of build up and discoloration on both. The water under the type of lights used in the pool area looked a sickly green. The location on Hayden Island was really frustrating to get to and from either North or South Portland. We ran into massive slowdowns any direction we tried to come or go. We chose it to be close to friends who live on the island but it was such a pain to come and go that we wouldn’t stay here again in spite of enjoying the hotel itself.
We liked the friendly and warm staff, the spacious suite we were kindly upgraded to at no extra cost, free drinks and breakfast, and the quality of the pub fare offered by the kitchen. The dry sauna was divine.
