How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

WiFi quality is just unacceptable for the level of the hotel. In today's day and age, when internet is so accessible and cheap - to not be able to do work without being continuously disconnected from the network - just a big gap. One more thing from this visit - despite us clearly having 3 adults in the room - the sofa bed wasn't turned into a bed and we had to ask multiple times
This hotel has an incredible rustic vibe and is really a neighbourhood gem. The staff is just amazing and so lovely and kind. Also a huge plus for adding the ping pong table in the lobby, people are having a great time with it (even with the chandelier in the way!)

No fridge, no tea/coffee in the room, no bottles of water. To order tea/coffee as room service was a bit pricey.

The staff wasn’t too friendly, except the door staff. Water and refrigerator had to be requested which we weren’t aware of.

We would have liked to had a refrigerator and microwave. We could have kept waters in the refrigerator. Ice machines didn't work on floors 9 or 10. Had to call room service for ice.

Only complain is the bed - uncomfortable pillows, and this trend of no sheet but only a comforter on top makes for either hot or cold nights.
This location was perfect for our needs, in a very nice neighborhood. All the staff were helpful, especially Lenny the doorman, who greeted us every time we returned and made sure we had a car to the airport on time. Our room was interior (quiet!), clean, with a well-laid out bathroom (a shelf for all our toiletries).

Location, staff, beds.
From the moment we walked in all of the staff were so friendly and welcoming! Apparently the doorman is even TikTok famous! The customer service and amenities were outstanding. They upgraded our room for a small fee and gave us early check-in and we felt like kings. The bed was so comfortable I actually felt like I was sleeping at home! The location was perfect and we were steps from the shops on 5th Ave. and a short walk to Grand Central Station. It was just me and my teen daughter and we felt very safe. Would definitely stay here again!

After we got in the room maintenance came to take our fridge. Then they came in to change the shower curtain The coffee maker was only available upon request and I didn’t know this. Maybe offering at check in would be helpful parking is crazy expensive

It was a bit pricey, but worth the effort for the quality they offer. The restaurant is too expensive for the quality of the food, but the staff there were wonderful.
Beautiful hotel, with friendly staff, and in the middle of everything. The room exceeded my expectations, and you can walk or take a short bus ride to most important places of interest.

Two of the three elevators weren't working for the last 24 hours of my stay. It made getting to and from the room a lengthly process. We tried to have a drink one evening in the hotel bar, but left after 10 minutes w/ no waiter.
Room was extremely spacious by NYC standards. Nice decor. Clean. Every staff member I interacted with was professional and helpful.

Protest in front of hotel on our arrival made it uncomfortable to enter. But staff were all in the lobby making it feel safer.
