Steps to room are brick, too steep, and wonky - they would not be considered to code now. Doors do not have an added security latch at the top, and the door key was sticky. Carpet smelled of solvent and interior door mat was still wet. Furnishings are very dated but functional. Windows need to be replaced with triple panes. Lots of exterior noise. Parking lot lighting at night is atrocious (think MLB stadium bright), which required rigging the black out curtains, and it never quite worked, so room was not dark enough. The bathroom is tiny, but functional. Shower is very dated with a significant step up, very slippery interior, and there was no bath mat provided. We had to use a towel on the floor to provide some traction. First shower had multiple unpleasant temperature variants. 2nd was better - I’d recommend individual room on-demand water heaters or similar. Bathroom window has no screen and needs to be updated. For having two queen beds, the room should have been furnished with enough towels for a family of four - they provided only two sets. Refrigerator and wall heater are loud, and the heater pilot runs 24/7. Fridge cycles too much. I would update rooms with quieter mini-splits. TV and remote worked. The room has a table and two chairs, but no easy-to-access wall outlets and charging ports.

It’s centrally located and there was plenty of parking. Bed was comfortable, but not enough pillows.

No AC and barely any hot water from the shower

Stayed for Monterey Car Week. Decent location by some fast food places, corner store next door, dispensaries nearby, very basic old school rooms and physical keys. Booked 3 weeks before car week at $300 so pretty good deal compared to $900 for a single night at the Motel 6 for the event dates!

Hot water was not that hot. We didn’t have to turn on the cold tap during our showers. Not that big a deal for us.

Very convenient for our purposes ( a visit to a grandkid at Cal State). Value for the money. A throw back to when all travel motels looked like this. It’s been recently renovated, so it’s very clean. Very easy in and out compared to the larger chains in the area. Big plus is supporting a small family business. Check out the old school tiled shower!

It's a motel essentially, so it seemed a little unsafe because of the open courtyard. But that's with all motels. Only other issue was people were smoking despite the no smoking signs. Not a big deal because I couldn't smell it.

Good service, clean, and things worked for the most part. The bathroom door seemed warped and was a little hard to close. I locked my key in the room, and the lady was very nice about it and let me keep the spare.

The rooms could use some updating, but we were comfortable and had no complaints.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was very spacious! It was also spotlessly clean, and the beds were comfy. The hotel is in a good location, only a few minutes' driving distance to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, our main destination that weekend. There are also restaurants and shopping nearby.

The rooms are a bit outdated

It is located on a main rd in marina so its close to shopping, there are also a couple of bars near but it is quiet. Marina is a pretty quiet beach town.

The interior is somewhat aged and what the bedroom has of enough space the bathroom has not. These however, are trivia.

I really like the room's size: enough space for four and corresponding luggage so that we never had to step over things. Really comfy. Also the beds were truly queen size. Even a tall European like me fit comfortably in with enough space above and below.

The only thing I didn't like was that the mattresses were a bit too firm for my liking. I woke up with a little sore on my lower back. But aside from that, everything was great. Loved that the TV had decent premium movie channels.

Room was clean and no fowl odor was present. Staff was very friendly and accommodated me with anything I requested.
