There were roaches, the air conditioner screen didn't work so had to guess at what was doing, the TV was tricky to get the remote to work, the sheets were dirty with rust on them, the bathroom was showing pipes out of the wall. The side walk was to small to walk on if someone else was outside so in the rain had to walk in the dirt to get to room then track the dirt and water in the room.

Rooms are a little rundown room 10 the tub was painted and it was peeling on the inside where you stood. The bathroom window was broken. The bathroom door was put together with cardboard. The AC had to run constantly to keep the room cooled and it still wasn’t that cool. The TV remote stopped working immediately. The floors are cracked uneven need to be redone. There’s German cockroaches that appear here and there there’s not enough outlets. The door needs a new weather seal. You can hear outside and car is driving down the road as if the door was open. All the doors to the facility on the outside look like someone went to every one of them and beat them with their fist.

Location was OK although you could hear cars driving down the road due to the weather seal on the door needs to be replaced.

The only problem was that they're no longer pet friendly. They let us stay for a few days but no longer. My cat is 17 yrs old & doesn't do much more than sleep & eat lol! We wanted to stay longer but weren't allowed to.

The location was very noisy and the furnishings were worn.

The staff was very helpful and gave my lots of help and suggestions. They even refunded one night when I had to check out earlier than planned. There is an excellent restaurant two businesses away so I could walk there by myself in about two minutes!

I didn’t ask for them, and I’m sure they would’ve been supplied had I asked, but there weren’t enough provided pillows for two people. They were only two total. Usually there are four on a queen size bed from my experience.

Location was good and the owner was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean including the bathroom. The water for the shower was nice and hot. This is an older building and has some quirks. I was looking to experience an old Florida motel feel for my grandson and I and it delivered. Nothing brand new furniture wise in the room but everything was clean. The mattress slept very well and seemed new. The appliances were squeaky clean and the television stations were plentiful. There was room to play with my grandson with his cars on the floor and the other guests were really nice to talk to. So if you want to experience the traveling experience of yesteryear in Florida, this would be your place.

Police showed up because of drug dealing according to the owner.

The hotel has a little bit of a sketchy vibe to me (door looked like someone had tried to break into it before, the bathroom counter had old cigarette burns on it, sheets had some holes), but I saved almost $200 from the other people I was traveling with who stayed at bigger name places. I had a feeling of what the room would look like, so I was not surprised and it did not disappoint me. I travel a lot, and I know if I am paying almost half the cost of a national chain, that I am going to know why as soon as I arrive. We only needed the room to sleep and shower. It did that perfectly. Though the surroundings seemed sketchy to me, it was quiet and I never heard a peep from any of the other people around us. We slept great, and that's what we needed it for!

The man who checked us in was very nice and accommodating and very friendly and clearly worked hard at what he does. I'm not sure if he is the owner or not, but he worked like he was. Very nice man. The room had a full size fridge and freezer, so that was nice to make sure we had food and drinks available to us after a long day of hot, dusty horse showing!

A few things that I personally did not care for, was the towels were a tad on the shorter side (I'm 5'10, hubby is 6'2) and the bed is not exactly the most comfortable thing in the world. However, I do have a bad back and most beds aren't super comfy to me. My husband slept perfectly fine. The bathroom was a TAD bit dirty, but I do not think that was done on purpose, due to the rest of the room being beautifully clean.

The owner Sam was an absolute gem! Hard to find these days. He is definitely old school Florida. Full of charisma, class, caring, and just has a big heart. He truly cares for his guests. You can tell he has been doing this a long time. The hotel is definitely old school Florida. The room was clean and smelled wonderful when we arrived. Another thing about Sam that warmed my heart was that I woke up a tad under the weather and was running behind getting dressed (we were in town for a funeral), my husband asked if it would be ok if we stayed a little past check out and he told him that we were ok and not to worry. True compassion.

there is just one thing that I would like to see improved is an electrical outlet near the night stands. but I ask the owner for an extension cord so that helped!

it is a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The owner of the motel is a hard worker in keeping the customers comfortable and feeling secure in their surroundings. Love that pets are allowed to stay without an high extra charge. The rooms are clean and have an apt size refrigerator and microwave with a small kitchenette sink and a couple of cabinets. There is a desk/ chair and also another lounge chair. also a dresser that has a decent amount of storage along with a granite top. Quite a bit of work has gone into improving the facility and it’s a process in work. Bottom line it is my go to place to stay when traveling thru Ocala and I will plug that next door the owner purchased the Shamrock Motel which I will stay in next visit. the Shamrock is designed for people who enjoy a whimsical and bohemian atmosphere that gives a relaxing atmosphere. The decor is awesome and I hear the managers go above and beyond in accommodations for visitors.

I woke up and was not able to move my body because the bed was very bad. Amazon has a queen 10 inch memory foam mattress for under $400. I can't stay there until the mattress is updated.
