Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesA little road noise from nearby highway. Towels were a little old and worn.
Private and comfortable. Keurig coffee maker. Liked the “old timey “ look and feel.

United StatesAccess to the building from street level is via concrete steps which need clearing of encroaching plants, and could be difficult to negotiate or a trip hazard for the infirm.
Cosy room in an attractively quaint building.

United StatesStairs from the road up to the room. They aren’t very long, but for people that are mobility compromised, it could be a problem
The room was a nice size and included a mini frig, Keurig style coffee maker, good WiFi. Also had a patio door connecting to a walkway to pool and private tavern that was part of the property. Very nice host who met me upon arrival to provide access code to my room and were responsive to a text requesting additional coffee.

United StatesThe shower: the soap was watery and runny. It ran down my arms instead of staying in the cup of my hand. The shower curtain was not water repellent, so water dripped onto the bathmat, and it was wet when anyone got out of the shower, even though the inner curtain had been put inside the tub. There was no sign saying not to enter the proprietor's front yard, even though there was a sign saying to the pool and tavern before a Y in the path; and since we were unfamiliar with the property, we didn't know which path went where.. The proprietor let us know in no uncertain terms that we were off limits when we went up the stairs to explore the property -- not fair! (Otherwise, she was pleasant and helpful.) There are steep stairs going up to the front door, so anyone with mobility issues might have a hard time getting up to the landing with their luggage. (But this also means nice views.)
The location was fine, on a crescent off the main road into Julian. Beautiful big trees and natural surroundings. Room #1 had a nice terrace, which would be nice for a stay of at least two nights because having lunch or dinner there would be lovely. The bed was ultrasoft with lots of pillows to prop oneself up for reading. The bottled water was nice; the air in Julian can be dry as it was the days we were there. Access by code was easy and realistic.

United StatesThe hosts were friendly and available if we needed something (pool towels, extra coffee). The room was up steep stairs but no issue for us. It was clean and peaceful and had a nice patio (room 1). We enjoyed the small pool and the tavern room stocked with drinks and snacks which is a nice idea. Parking was easy at the bottom of the stairs. Location is close to main part of town.

United StatesThe mattress was spring and not comfortable to sleep on. My back would hurt each morning. They did not allow for taking a bath in the bathroom. No way to plug the tub and the tub was also very small. Parking is nearly impossible during the day.
This was a great little hideaway. The back porch was very cozy and comfortable, and a lovely addition to the room. The little kitchenette was also very convenient. The grounds were lovely, and the honor bar was also a lovely addition as well.

Abkhazia, GeorgiaMy husband & I are over 80. There are concrete steps that were very difficult. No one told us the they would be difficult to navigate. Code to get in was sent close to 3pm. We could get in early because the code to get in was withheld till 3 pm. Very inconvenient The pool —— nasty smell because of the dog shit in area above the pool. Dog was on a higher level but barked the entire time we were there. Price was way too high for the facility. The bed was uncomfortable. Room ‘s worth should have been $100. We will never stay there again. We would certainly appreciate a generous refund. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Deena Avery deenaa66@ Gmail.com

United StatesDisliked · When I gently pointed out my disappointment as a cold motorcyclist not being able to take a desired hot bath, the management changed the topic to whether or not the water was hot and "insist"ed on some absurdity next... I was reminded of Trump and his Juvenile Obfuscation and recommended they Grow Up...
Liked · Everything but a "Bathtub" one CANNOT take a Bath in...
