Bottled water was supplied only the first day of a six day stay. Extra surcharges for each day of the stay; not apprised of the fees until just prior to our stay. The original reservation was for four rooms, requested close together. Not sure if they could have been further apart.

The rooms were spacious and clean. I didn't experience noise from adjacent rooms. Breakfast items were quite good. Free use of pool towels and snorkeling gear. The valet parking was quick and worth the daily fee.

Building is in need of update, which I know they are actively working on. We had a corner room with two full glass walls, and for some reason the curtains were really dirty. Had random black splotches on them. Other than that, room seemed pretty clean to me. Hall ways had scratches and peeling paint and felt a little yucky. 3 elevators but it seemed that only one was actually working— there was always a huge queue in the lobby. Thankfully we were only a few floors up so just walked, no issue. AC was loud. Seemed understaffed- always a huge queue for check in as well and only a person or two working.

The most perfect location. Absolutely beautiful outdoor area. Generous drink coupons, restaurant was fine, reasonable prices. Very friendly staff, treated us kindly and seemed happy to be there and working. Feel like compared to other hotels, it was a fine quality affordable option

There was only valet parking available at a cost of $25/day - no option to self-park.

There was a loud noise in the room, 24 hours/day. All of the wall hangings had been removed, so there were blank, white walls throughout the facility. The location was beautiful.

Even though I had the printout of my reservation that I acquired through booking.com, upon arrival at the hotel, they informed me that they had no record of the reservation and it caused quite a panic and uncomfortable situation that they said I had to straiten out with booking.com. As there is no customer service number for booking.com, of course I couldn't get a hold of any help. I will never use booking.com again.

We were told if we didn’t do valet parking for $25 a day, we had to street park and risk the car getting broken into by the homeless. The hotel has a large parking lot on the premises. I would rather pay $25 to just park myself than have to deal with a valet every time. Walking into Hilo isn’t an option unless you have 1.5hrs RT just to walk. The exterior is tired, much like the rest of the buildings in Hilo. A power wash would go a long way. Elevators took a while during peak times.

The room had good air conditioning and was clean.

The walls in the hallways and rooms were very beat up and in need of repair, external walls were dirty and grimy, food from the bar was expensive and mediocre at best and not from the hotel kitchen. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow with only 1 waiter and a couple of girls who could not take orders. Waited 45 minutes just to get our order taken. Food was ok.

Good location, very scenic, on the water and very close to a lovely botanical garden, comfortable chairs in the bar and outside, valet parking, Staff were friendly and responsive. Hot cookies on arrival and departure, strong drinks at the bar, lovely floral arrangements. Live music in the bar and restaurant.

My bed was very hard; I could hear noises of doors/cabinet closing at all hours; I had an adjoining room so noise carried. There were some bugs but maintenance treated the room. Narrow hallway and a long walk to my room. Couldn’t watch Merrrie Monarch in my room.

Nice location-by the ocean; great views; valet and housekeeping were excellent. I enjoyed all of the Merrie Monarch activities- but couldn’t watch Merrie Monarch in my room.
