My aunt was a little disturbed by a couple of stink bugs in our room but the hosts immediately took care of it.

The breakfasts were a highlight. Made to order healthy and hearty breakfasts each morning... jams made from fruit grown right there was the best ive ever had. The ingredients were organic and of highest quality. We were really late returning from D,C, one night and they stayed up to be sure they got our breakfast order. Wonderful hosts. I'll definitely stay again.

It was VERY historical. old timey chairs and furniture. Not that I didn’t like it but it’s something I noticed.

The location was chosen because it was adjacent to the AT which the host had formerly hiked himself and they had SO MANY TREATS for hikers that they said we could help ourselves to. They also had so many extra clothes for hikers that they ALSO offered to us because we got really cold and wet on our Saturday hike. They helped us use a machine to dry out hiking boots which was cool. Breakfast was charming and delicious. There was a puzzle and some games in the nearby living room that we could help ourselves too. I enjoyed flipping through the AT photo album and the historical deed to the house.

Lisa and Scott are stellar hosts. Felt more like staying with family or old friends. They were caring. The breakfast was made to order, and lovely, and included Scott's homemade jam and cider. Scott is super-knowledgable about all the nearby trails. Do ask for tips. We loved it here. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    No complaints from us!

The house was lovely and historic, our room (the Gardner Room) was comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice each day. The best parts of our stay, though, were Scott and Lisa themselves, who embodied hospitality and made us feel right at home. They brought a toy train set to our room for our two young boys to play with during the stay (7 and 4); during breakfast each day, they gave us useful tips and recommendations for our daily explorations; they loaned us trail maps and a backpack and provided us with hiking snacks; and they even prepared a firepit for us one evening so that our family could enjoy s'mores. We will gladly stay here again the next time we're in the area!
