Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI wish we could have stayed an additional day or two...
Steven and Jeanette were amazing hosts! Both were very accommodating and made you feel at home. Jeanette made an amazing breakfast every morning that was truly delicious and presented as if you were at a 5-star hotel. Additionally, she made a delicious breakfast for my wife, who is Gluten Free. If you don't feel like going out for dinner after a day at the great wineries ( Dr. Franks was our favorite) kick back and relax at Moonshadow while Steve and Jeanette prepare you an amazing salad ( farm to table) and a gourmet thin crust pizza with toppings of your choice

CanadaOur room was a bit on the small side. My husband commented a couple times that the mattress sides were soft and he felt like he was going to roll of during the night. There was a sound in the corner of the room. We were not sure if it was doves outside the window or the refrigerator in the closet.
Charming B&B with picturesque views of the lake. Loved that we were able to have a campfire and look up at the stars and that amazing moon. The meals were fantastic. Perfect portions and a nice variety on each plate. Ingredients were from their garden or locally sourced. I also liked that there were a number of different places to relax and read a book. I also loved that our hosts gave excellent recommendations for activities and restaurants in the area.

United StatesFirst of all- the food. Omg, the food! I would sleep on the floor for Jeanette's breakfasts. And plan to order their homemade pizza and salad one night. It could be the best dinner of your trip. We also took advantage of Steven's wine tour, letting him choose the destinations (excellent and varied) and drive so we could enjoy the tastings. He delivered a beautiful charcuterie board at our third stop. After a hard day of vineyard visits, we played pool, darts, and cornhole in Moonshadow's well stocked game room. Away from our temporary home, we visited the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, hiked to several waterfalls around Ithaca (Buttermilk Falls was our favorite), and enjoyed the Corning Museum of Glass. On Jeanette and Steven's recommendation, we stopped by the Muranda dairy farm in Waterloo for a cheese tasting. It was fabulous! Watkins Glen State Park is less than an hour away and you could even add a day trip to Niagara Falls. Whatever you do during the days, plan to start and end them at Moonshadow!

United StatesNothing.
Beautiful property, comfortable rooms and common areas, and awesome breakfasts (and option to order pizzas, salads and sweets in the evening). Jeanette and Steven were amazingly hospitable and their knowledge of and connections with local restaurants, attractions, wineries and the like made it easy to plan activities (Steven's winery tour is highly recommended). We chose Moonshadow because of its proximity to the Point of the Bluff's concert venue, but it was so much more than we expected.

United StatesImpeccable service. The view of the lake and the sunrise from the porch was spectacular. The location and the setting of the property in the surrounding woods made you feel like you were in a secluded spot even though you were just a stone's throw away from the main road and the nearest neighbor.

Janette and Steven were amazing hosts. Moonshadow is beautiful and comfortable with so many amenities. Our group enjoyed the wine tour organized by Janette and Steven and then returned to Moonshadow to have dinner and enjoy a cozy fire and the firepit. Rooms are comfortable and clean and you feel at home and welcome the moment you set foot on the property.
