Very steep steps to get in …small non existent lobby…..garish if not hideous wall paper… Balcony on 8th floor was large but unusable due to filthy table and chair

This property is in a great location just south of Columbus circle…walkable to Central Park,carmigie hall and museums on 5th Ave . Room on top floor was spacious and had a huge balcony…but it was dirty so didn’t partake.

Very dark room. A/C went out and they solved the issue by installing a window unit that, while solving the temperature issue, was VERY loud.

Breakfast was from 7 to 9, but there wasn't much when we arrive at 7.15am. Until 8, a guy brought some pastries and some other things. After hangin around for a long time, we managed to eat enough breakfast to get us through the day. There was some fruit, yoghurt, cereals coffee and pastries, but only a few and when brought in they were scouped up immediately by the people waiting. This should be much better organised. Given the fairly ridiculous price (it is Manhattan, we get it) we paid for the hotel, a decent breakfast would be appreciated. We also did not like the view. We had one window overlooking at a brick wall. Oh yeah, they should fire the guy who picked the wallpaper in the hallways.

The woman working the front desk during the day...never saw a smile, she voiced the general greetings... But when we asked her if a room was available to stay a 3rd night (8/14), she took a long time checking and then stated no rooms were available... However, when we checked Booking.com, it showed 2 rooms were available. Maybe she didn't know what she was checking, maybe she just didn't want our money, we'll never know... We moved to a different hotel. When we double checked Booking.com on the night of 8/14 for the Moderne it still showed two rooms available. I guess she just didn't want to make money and kept the rooms vacant.

Jerry was fantastic! He was a great help with excellent advice about the city, and so very friendly! The room, the bed, the hot water in the shower, and the hotel itself were excellent. The view was also great! And there is an excellent parking garage right next door.

Our room had one window that faced a wall, impossible to open or get any light in. It was depressing. Also, the AC was very loud and blowing right onto the bed. We had to turn it off at night to be able to sleep, which made the room very hot. Also, the breakfast was muffins and apples, no variety.

I believe that there were renovations going on, and some parts of our room showed wear. Other than that, I have no complaints, observations or comments.

Fantastic staff. Helpful, happy, professional. Our location was very convenient and our room size was outstanding for NYC. I liked the lounge as well.

day staff lady with the glasses was quite rude multiple times to us :( rude about their broken elevator.... i was on 6th floor... rude and gassed me about giving me my package i had delivered... clearly my name on it. i had to argued for 20 min to get her to give me my stuff... all other staff was great.

Lovely room with a very comfortable bed. Hotel location is great and close to transportation. All staff were friendly and helpful. We had a bit of noise from the street late Saturday night but that is expected in Manhattan.

There was construction going on. It started at 7 o’clock in the morning. Internal room had one small window and it faced a brick wall about a foot away, so it always seemed like it was nighttime a foot away so it always seemed like it was night. Free breakfast was nonexistent. They put out a few scones and supposedly some fresh fruit but even if you got there at 8 o’clock in the morning there was none left and didn’t refill it. The doors are very loud so every time your neighbor let’s go over the door. It slams and wakes you up all night long and it’s New York and people are coming in at all times of the night. The photos of the carpet are where it’s not worn underneath the desk and what it looks like right next to the bed it was very dirty.

While my stay was manageable, there are several areas that could be improved. The room cleanliness did not meet expectations—both the sheets and carpets required more thorough attention. Additionally, room service was only available upon request, which was inconvenient. I was also surprised to find staff utilizing the only guest lounge for their breaks; providing a dedicated staff lounge would ensure guests have uninterrupted access to common areas. For the price point, I anticipated better amenities—particularly a more complete breakfast experience, as the complimentary offering felt awkward for someone like me who prefers a quieter, less crowded setting. Finally, I was unexpectedly awakened at 7 a.m. by loud banging noises, accompanied by a strong smell of burning metal through the air conditioning. These issues collectively impacted the overall quality of my stay.

Slow elevators but realize an older building. There was continental breakfast advertised but no food except a couple tiny muffins. Disappointed. Good coffee. Lots of construction, so outside doesn't look like much.

The location was near many things to see and do but as lso fairly quiet. Nice close market for food, snacks, sundries. Lots of restaurants within one block. The staff were outstanding. Helpful, nice, funny. Made our visit special .The room size was great. Parking right by hotel.

Perfect location for Central Park, Times Square, rockerfella. Staff lovely, polite and very helpful. Opposite is an Irish bar and down the street a fab roof terrace bar. Bed and pillows, best night sleep ever! Bathroom great! Cleaned every day. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

Scaffolding was covering the property so you couldn’t open the blinds. Furnishings were a little tired and dated. Air conditioning was very noisy.

Location was great for walking to all the sights. It was also quiet and away from the main bustle. Comfy beds, specious rooms. Grab and go breakfast was a great bonus as was 24hr tea/coffee and water bottles replaced daily.

Parking your not told to pull up in front if hotel to unload Parking vendor rude and no help Hotel says parking 35 day if stay there vendor charges 45 because I hvin small suv! Front desk folks were helpful along with doorman Room needs st least a shelf in bathroom for toiletries and hooks to hang towels AC is old and noisy and windows under beds need cleaned zoom very damp
