How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Great place to stay when you're on your way down California. We stayed there because it was close to a concert venue.

I missed an elevator . The shower did not have an accessible bar making more difficult so get in and out of the shower.
Staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the oatmeal at breakfast. I liked the fresh fruit. I liked the breakfast area and the news on television. The wifi worked great. My room was very clean. I appreciated where the outlets were located on the night stand. The desk lamp was a very good. I really appreciated the free parking being rights at the hotel.

It was noisy. Other guests were talking loudly from 2 am to 4 am. The walls seemed thin.

All good.
Modern, spacious, clean rooms, firm mattress, fridge, coffee-maker—all excellent, Near to shops and cafes on Santa Cruz Ave. Good breakfast buffet.

The walls are paper thin!! Our neighbor had the TV on very loud and it lasted into the night! TV off at 1 am and TV on at 5 am!! We didn't get a very good nights sleep!!
We chose this hotel to be close to our daughter's place for the Holidays. Very nice breakfast items!

It was wonderfully convenient and very nice personal service and quite a comfortable room for the price to pay in a very desirable neighborhood. I thought it was a great deal.And I would definitely stay there again.... Walk easily to restaurants and stores and beautiful incredible coffee machine in the lobby!! Breakfast was pretty decent for this kind of place, a few healthy choices... I don't expect much in this pricey. Area, but this was a wonderful value

I believe I left my pain medicine in the room but when I called, they said no one reported anything and being what it is I’m guessing it got nabbed.
Clean and breakfast included. Just need to add a waffle station and regular bread to toast

Only minor things, for one in our room the sink faucet would continue to run unless it was fully pressed back. Wasn’t annoying to us but it might be to some people.
It’s in a good location. Close to downtown with plenty of different stores and food nearby. The property itself was exceptionally clean and the rooms were very spacious. The staff was great and friendly as well. The breakfast simple with pastries, oatmeal and fruits with yogurts to choose from.

The room had an old, musty smell to it. The rooms could use an update but the bed was comfortable.
The front staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was reasonably good. The exterior of the property was well maintained and up to date.

The noise of the cars was very annoying. We requested to be moved to the back of the hotel and it helped. The room needs curtains to make it more pleasant to sleep. Loud bathroom lights that can be listened to very loudly from the upstairs guests. The bread and pastry of the breakfast had some flies around. The Wi-Fi signal didn't work. The night lamps didn't work.
Two young women who were at the reception desk were very kind, understanding and considerate. Room super clean, no fragrances were smelling there!!!! Wow. Very convenient location to the school we needed for my son to take his therapy because there were only back roads and it was relatively close. The TV signal was excellent. The hot meal for breakfast was great to taste, fresh and warm.

The only consistent issue we have is the front desk clerk (at check-in). She is abrasive, unfriendly, rude, and never helpful. It is at the point where we really don't want to stay there anymore.
