Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom-Pool is a bit too small/too crowded most days. Water way too warm as well. Pool bar choice is good, but expensive. Getting one of the "premium" sun beds/areas required a minimum spend of $$$, which is silly for hotel residents. -Breakfast was "interesting": It is a fixed choice in a menu of 4 (maybe 5) meal options. You can get all of meal 1, 2, 3, or 4, or nothing. One cannot pick and match without paying extra. How can you charge $12 for an "extra" mini chocolate croissant. For the past 40 years, I have a black coffee and a plain croissant or a biscuit for breakfast. Maybe some fresh juice. I could not have that here, unless I ordered specially and paid like $50. Overall choice is poor for a hotel of that standard in a prime US city. Moreover, the fixed breakfast meal choices, are "interesting" and quirky at first, but by day 5 you wish you could have a better coffee and a croissant. Service at breakfast is also below par for US standards. Again, as its table service on a menu that is avant garde, and quite boring after a few repeats. This is clearly a business plan that works on a 2-3 day stay. Why do they not do a buffet/self service breakfast like everyone else. Cheaper, faster, more choice. - Our initial room had a toilet drainage issue. Hotel management and service tried their best to fix, but after day 3 we had to move. One of those things I guess, but a faff nonetheless.
Location and Coconut Grove in general, were lovely. The hotel had a great ambience and a lovely vibe, both in the main ground floor restaurant and rooftop pool bar/area. Food in the restaurant (accessible for outsiders too) was terrific. Services staff and the manager himself were wonderful and dealt with our issues (below) efficiently and politely.

United KingdomThe breakfast choice - appreciate breakfast included but I feel the allowance for 1 drink is a bit stingy and it was a very limited menu offer.
Loved the Art Deco botanical vibe stunning building and rooms to die for perfect!! Breakfast in parts was good, staff super friendly and helpful loved the rooftop pool, and vibrant of the building. B bed super comfy and spacious room loved it.

FranceI was expecting a breakfast buffet rather than a set menu. I believe offering a buffet would be a smarter option, as it allows everyone to choose what they like. I paid for breakfast, and I don’t think it’s fair to be charged extra for a latte or cappuccino or having eggs
The room is fantastic it’s very spacious, and having Google Cast available is a great feature. The bathroom is also impressively large

FranceWe had a mixed but overall delightful experience at Hôtel Mayfair. The place is spotless and our room was spacious — although, true to my French roots, let me start by saying there was no hot water! For three guests, we only got two tiny bottles of water, and not even every day. Breakfast was included, but just one dish, one hot drink, and one cold drink — you’ll have to pay extra if your inner gourmand gets ambitious. Also, the breakfast room is so small that on the morning we left, people were queueing outside like it was a trendy Parisian bakery. Ah, c’est la vie! But honestly, there’s so much to love here! The common spaces are genuinely gorgeous, the gym is massive and super well-equipped, and the restaurant is great (merci beaucoup for the warm welcome!). The advice at reception was much appreciated — thanks, Fernando! The rooftop pool and bar are a dream (Louis, those cocktails deserve a round of applause). So yes, I’m French and I enjoy a good complaint — but here, the little annoyances really pale in comparison with all the things that make this hotel wonderful. I definitely recommend it (and that’s not just the wine talking)!

United StatesI did not like that it took staff a while to bring up anything requested. Also our room did not have all the amenities listed. It was missing a steamer. And although we had a late check in, we expected assistance with getting our luggage to our room.
I loved the spacious room and location of the hotel.

United StatesCentral air conditioning of the hotel failed on the last day while we were staying there. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable regardless by providing mini fans.
What a special hotel.. Interior design of the hotel is so pretty, you will walk around inside thinking you're in a movie set. Both of the atriums are gorgeous, rooms are equally beautiful.

United KingdomNo one told us when we checked in that there was a private event happening in the evening, so when we went to the roof terrace for a swim, there was a debauched party of 20 somethings, drinking and smoking cigars in the pool. Not ideal for young kids! Also felt the breakfast offer was quite functional. Misleading menu re what was included (juice is NOT the juices on the menu!) and check presented about a minute after we ordered.
Loved the style of the hotel - beautiful design throughout, and fantastic roof terrace. Resturant (Grill) for evening meal was EXCELLENT.

United KingdomThe decor is a little dated but the fact that you soon forget this is a testament to the build and design quality at the time. The lift system is frustrating and very slow but hey, not a real problem in the scheme of things
The hotel which has a Cuban vibe is well located in a peaceful area with a host of good restaurants nearby. The room was spacious with all relevant amenities. The Pool area is relaxing and far away from the Miami hustle and bustle and a wonderful inner courtyard offers real tranquility. We would recommend the hotel to others and definitely return ourselves.

AustraliaThere is a balcony but it's on a busy road, so difficult to use relaxingly. I reckon this hotel works best when catering to large groups like wedding parties. As persons passing through for a couple of nights, you're a little lost in the process.
The hotel has a lovely tropical feeling. The rooms are colourful and laid back.
