How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Beds were very soft. coffee maker didn't have correct coffee pot (odd). Floors could use more than just sweeping.
Room looked just like the pictures. Nice to see these older places getting refurbished and give a fresh new lease on life. Bathroom was nicely updated. Roku TV was a nice plus. Smelled nice, or should I say no smell at all.

The shower was brand new but the water pressure was only ok if it was scalding hot! For a warm shower, the pressure was quite weak. Everything else with the room was fine.
Bare bones, newly renovated, super clean, very comfortable bed! We only needed to stay one night, because the place we were staying for a week previously had no room. Happy with the location...easy walk into town. Contactless check-in was a breeze.

Since all being renovated, the landscaping is last on the list.
No frills, low cost. Everything I was looking for. Newly renovated and room had just the essentials. Good mattresses and pillows; very clean; and nice bathroom. Tv; refrigerator; microwave and coffee pot. Was all we needed for a four-night stay.

Workers began painting the building outside our room at 730/8am, waking us up. Mind you we were the only ones there at the time.
Rooms were super clean, fairly priced, and not even a 10 minute walk to downtown.

There are too many reminders of how to check in.

I dont habe anything negative to say about this place.
Probably the cleanest and most welcoming place I've stayed at in Lake Placid. Simple yet it has everything you need. Room was very clean, and couldn't hear my neighbors, which was great! Carlos was exceptionally helpful and made sure everything was perfect for when we arrived.

The outside. But as I said the owner may have plans for that
Very clean. My room recently renovated, not sure about the rest. Bed very comfortable. The outside could use some sprucing up and maybe that's in the plan. I was very pleased considering the price.

Not enough towels or TP or tissues. Had to ask for extras when it was known that 4 guests were in the room

Not enough water pressure. No closet space or any other space to hand coats. Heating was hard to control - too hot when heater was running, too cold between cycles.
Beautiful minimalist decor, good in-room amenities.

guests in the room next door were loud and the parking lot was a little hard to navigate due to snow & remodeling materials.
Our room was very clean & in a great location to both Saranac Lake & Lake Placid. Very nice newly renovated room.Liked how easy it was to check in.

Sink either had a slowly drain or clog; it would fill up when we used it. Showers not level and drain is on one side so water does not drain from other side unless you move the water to the drain.
Affordable. Easy check-in. Walk from town. Super comfy beds. Comfortable temperature. Clean linens.

The heater in a bathroom did not work.
Great location , within a walking distance to center street of Lake Placid . Contactless check in worked really well. Our room was all set up and waiting for us when we arrived. Room a little dated but very clean.

My only issue was with parking, the way cars were parked, we couldn't fit near our room and had to park near the other part of the hotel (perhaps taking up someone else's space?)
I loved that checkin was virtual and the room was ready ahead of time. No need to sign papers or even show up in the lobby. The room was comfortable and clean, had everything I needed.

The shower pressure could be a little better,and our room was very warm..but we figured it out and I'd rather be warm than cold!
Location was great..walking distance to shops and restaurants. It's a little dated but super clean, comfy beds,pillows and bedding were great,and the water was nice and hot
