How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Bathroom is due for an update, faucet is hard to adjust water in the shower. The microwave plate doesn't turn at all.
The location is good as far as walking distance to groceries, restaurants etc....

I forgot my key and couldn't get a hold of staff for over an hour. There was no food or drinks in the vending machines .
The room was clean for the age of the building. It was conviently located to a dollar general. one of the only hotels that accepts pets

Water quality was not very good. Not the motels fault. Just the towns water source. Although the staff was very friendly, we had to ask for fresh towels and trash bags every day. Bath tub/shower drained very slow so even taking a short shower resulted in a couple of inches of water in the tub, and it would take a while to drain. This was brought to the staffs attention and they were apologetic and thanked me for letting them know. Bed mattress was pretty firm for my liking.
Room was clean and looked to be recently renovated. Motel was in a good location for what I needed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had to modify my stay dates, they were very helpful and patient with the process.

Property was decent but a new set of towels and pillows would go a long way.
Was traveling to Bend, OR and it was a good location to stay overnight.

The door to my room was wide open; for what reason, I don't know. And, towels were small and over used. The bathtub had a patch on the bottom.
It was quite. It was within a block of services.

Don't take the second floor if you have a pet. The stairs up are open metal grating. Dogs get confused.
It's basic. But it was clean. It's an old motor lodge. You park in the courtyard. Lakeview has better/newer hotels. Need a place that will take your pet for $15?

Came in felt/smelt dirty, fridge smelt rotten, microwave turn table broken, toilet only flushed 20% of the time, tube was slimy and water was either boiling hot or ice cold no in between, the tube faucet was broken off the wall, fire alarm was missing and wires sticking out of the ceiling. Bed was super uncomfortable and pillows were super flat. Bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way no fan in bathroom at all. Employees were rude when asking for extra towels and hardly spoke English. “Clean” towels smelt like mold. Deadbolt wouldn’t close not turn or lock all the way. All in all would NEVER recommend this place. And expensive for what we had to deal with.

I found blood stains on the duvet and I don't know what the stain was on the fitted sheets. The TV wasn't working properly and they said it was the wind but yet everyone tv was working fine. It didn't work properly even when the wind wasn't blowing.

Blood on sheets and blankets, got fresh sheets from the owner. Spatter on the mirrors, bathroom had toothpaste spatters. Floor was dirty and gritty. Looked like vomit on the walls near the bed.
