Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe AC in my room worked, but the controls were broken, so the only options were to allow it to run or unplug it to turn it off. (Aside from my own comfort, I would have preferred to be able to not leave it running constantly for the benefit of the hotel i.e. in order to not waste energy, especially when I left the room for the day. But between the option of wasting energy and coming back to a slightly chilly room vs not wasting energy but coming back to a room that was way too warm and needing to wait for it cool down, I went for the cooler option.) I'm still kind of disappointed by the lack of curtains on the windows. I also feel weird/bad that when using the shared/community showers, you basically need to and are expected to lock everyone else out because even though there are three individual showers, they're not private unless you lock the door. All the shower curtains are transparent. There are hostels that do shared/community shower rooms that allow as many people to using them simultaneously as the number of showers they contain. Here, though, it seems you're expected not to do that. So I feel a little bit of anxiety about others not being able to use the other showers at the same time that I'm showering and also anxiety over the possibility of finding the shower room locked when I go to use it. (That didn't happen during this stay, however.) It doesn't have to be this way.
Nice staff. Affordable at a so-so price; I don't feel like I got robbed, and there are definitely worse options. No disturbances during this visit. Not for everyone, but adequate for my needs. And not sure what it is, but I really love the fragrance they use.

United KingdomHaving white venetian blinds with a light outside is always going to leave the room room lit up at night, this is my only complaint. This aside, accommodation and staff were excellent for a 2 star rating :)
Staff, cleanliness and a decent mattress. Hispanic neighbourhood was particularly nice as this always means good family run street food, Taqueria la Cascada is just across the road. Bus stop to Downtown is also very close.

United StatesI was happy to have the private shower, but there was no desk (only a small folding TV tray table). Given a choice between a room with a real desk but no shower or a room with a shower and no desk, I would have rather had the desk and just showered in the shared/community showers that I booked.
I originally booked a room with a shared/community shower. When I arrived, staff said they'd upgraded me to a room with a private shower.

New ZealandBooking .com ad was not clear that shower was separate. It was a relief that toilet was in our quarters. Building a quite tired but functional and did not blow the budget.
Price, clean, nice to get a code for door rather than long checking in process very basic, area a little rough but fine. Owner was great when I stuffed up door code. Talked me through it on the phone. New fridge and microwave which was a plus.

United StatesThe main hall smells of cigarettes and the surrounding neighborhood is kind of dingy. Not really a place you’d walk around at night. It’s a little rough.
It was rather quiet, and cheaply priced. The staff was very nice and understanding, the room was clean and our room had its own shower.

United States"Tranquil" (from their marketing) doesn't align with the 7:30–10:30 noise session they hosted on the second night of this stay. This time WiFi was also out when I woke up, and I wasn't able to use it again until something like 10:00 or 11:00 PM, so I had to make an unplanned trip downtown on short notice to try to make up for it, but I basically lost an entire day (the only full day I was there) and pretty much paid for... nothing. (When I made this booking, I actually only needed one night but had the option to go for two, and my decision to stay the extra night was to have a full 24-hour day without any travel/checkin/checkout and which I was expecting to be able to use productively. I wasn't.) Despite the disruption, the staff didn't do anything like offer to comp half the stay or offer a discount for a future stay or even just say sorry at any point during the 4 or 5 interactions we had about the issue. The community showers are not a problem in theory, but are known to be a source of dissatisfaction to many guests, and it's because La Unica is totally dropping the ball. For one, it would be super easy to make sure they get cleaned at least once or twice a day, but from my experience during my previous stay and this one, it doesn't seem like this is happening. And even though there are three showers, at some point after my first stay, they decided to remove the shower curtains from two of the three showers—so the shower room is only usable one at a time (and for some reason they picked the one that was the worst of the three...). There are hostels in Austin + elsewhere that successfully pull off the community shower thing (read: you still have privacy; NOT group showers) and do it in a way that doesn't require only one person use the showers at a time. So it's not impossible, it's just that they don't seem to care here.
Comfortable beds and good appliances, including large (half-size) fridge, pretty good desk, and a good AC, if somewhat loud. Secondly, even though the neighborhood looks rough, which puts people off, it strikes me as a looks-can-be-deceiving situation; it is visibly run-down, but doesn't seem to actually be dangerous as far as violent crime goes. (Having said that, I took public transportation rather than needing to park a car overnight—I could totally understand being a little wary about break-ins.) This is not my first stay; I was really charmed my first time here back in May but noticed a few things that could have been better, so I held off on giving my review then in order to give an opportunity to have an even better experience another time. Unfortunately, the second time around in June was worse than the first, so I held off again until I could go for a third (this time) which I hoped would at a minimum even things out and at least bring things to parity with my original experience during my first stay, but this time was even worse still. I really wanted to root for this business based on that first stay, and there's a lot of potential, but unfortunately it seems like I misjudged—it doesn't look like they care enough to do a few small, simple things that would improve their standing/guest satisfaction greatly. (A bummer.)

NetherlandsBad smell, lots of noise, moist. Nothing is good here. The bad nursing home smell is strong. Toilets and bedrooms don't get ventilation often so stink and have moist. The fire extinguisher batteries are near dead everywhere so every minute during the night "beeb", I said it and she said that it is normal. The churche was next to my room ending with LOTS OF noise after 11PM and starting 8AM. Also the AC, fridge and other rooms are really noisy. And in the night you cannot make your room dark.

United StatesIt's in a ghetto and doesn't feel safe. When I was leaving there was some random guy from the street muttering and just passing through the building which doesn't really have security. I didn't bother with the showers as they were out of the room. Noisy fridge had to be unplugged to sleep. Nowhere to safely walk around and no restaurants or cafes or anything around I would want to visit.
