Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room had a mildew smell and not much sound proofing so we could hear our neighbors and people walking down the hall slamming doors at all hours of the night. Also there’s huge gaps under the hotel room door and I saw a cockroach enter someone’s room through it so maybe some investment can be done to address that and how noisy it is
Location is excellent and staff was friendly

PolandI understand that cleaning a room every day is unnecessary but it would be nice to at least have the trash taken out once every 2-3 days. I was there for 6 nights and no room service was provided. Also, please bear in mind that the market takes place twice a week. I was waken up at 6 AM by the sellers setting up their stands. Wi-fi was problematic at times.
The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. Free coffee and tea available. Trolley station is 5 minutes away from the hotel.

AustraliaFirst hotel I have stayed at with plastic drinking cups in lieu of china. No tea/coffee making facilities nor toaster that are standard items anywhere else. No clothes storage or hanging spaces mean you live out of your luggage.
Little Italy location great - mid way between airport & cruise terminal. Hotel location on the corner of the Main Street with 25+ restaurants immediately available. Luckily our stay co-incited with a Festival plus Farmers Market.

United StatesThere are restrictions how big your car can be to park in their garage, which was never explained before we got there. There was street parking and a garage near by, but it would have been nice to know beforehand.
The location can’t be beat! The beds were comfortable and the staff friendly.

United StatesThe room was tiny, no maid service, no place to have coffee, no coffee pot, microwave and we wanted to have lunch in our room and relax after walking but there was no place to have a seat for the two of us, one had to sit on the bed.
Loved little Italy, great food, great people, street fair, pood parking, close to ships, Balboa Park, old town and beach

United StatesThat they didn't off coffee or breakfast pastries. There is a coffee shop Cafe Italia in the same complex.
I liked the location. Just in the middle of Little Italy, San Diego and walking distance to the harbor. and very close to the airport. I like the quaintness of the hotel. Very nice sitting area to enjoy a cup of coffee from the coffee shop

United StatesParking in that garage with those tiny, limited spaces, was uniquely difficult, causing immense anxiety and frustration; not conducive for a relaxing getaway.
Location and outdoor seating area right outside the lobby near the cool, yummy cafe.

AustraliaWould have liked a kettle / tea or bowl in room but it was overall great value for money.
Great location, comfy beds, great shower, quiet even though Little Italy is a popping place and right near the airport. Very convenient to blue and green trolley line. Staff was very cheerful and friendly. Room was small but exactly what I needed. Room includes small fridge but not any utensils other than disposable cups (no kettle etc). Coffee and tea is downstairs not in room.

New ZealandIt’s a little tired and frayed around the edges - but aren’t we all?
It’s tucked away in Little Italy, away from the bland big hotels. The smell of jasmine permeates. Excellent restaurants and coffee are nearby. It’s really close to the tram/trolley for getting about the city. The Farmers’ Market is great.

United StatesTo be fair, the hotel has recently been sold. The plan now is to close down in September, I think, for a year+ and completely renovate. As such, there were few pluses. No housekeeping was a surprise. Everything was a bit worn. If driving, parking might be difficult, but check.
Location is great, Little Italy was outside our window. The staff was wonderful.
