The cottage is well designed, especially the bathroom and kitchen! The beds and sofas are comfortable. We love that the location is central all the places we wanted to visit. The bonus is the breakfast is Julian Cafe!

It was perfect!

Adorable, clean, space created with a lot of care and attention to the details - quiet, peaceful and lovely to be in. Communication with Cara via text was easy and quick. She is warm, kind and all around terrific! Access was super easy with a door code. Breakfast - a short drive to town - offered a lot of choices.

Nothing we did not like. The only extra amenity would be a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. It helps with putting on makeup. Could be installed on the wall next to the shower door.

Modern. Decorated nicely. Almost every single amenity I could hope for. As a woman, loved the additional handheld shower head in the bathroom! Bathroom lighting was bright enough to do makeup. Quiet neighborhood. Cable TV so we didn't have to log in to any of our accounts. Internet access was great.

Can't think of anything we didn't like.

It was clean and scent was inviting this place had all items that we needed from pots, utensils, to napkins and more. My husband and I are coffee lovers so it was such a great relief to see they had keurig cups for us(thank you :-). I wish we had more days to enjoy the place longer. It is a great stay for the family. Quiet and calm location to relax at night but also unwind during the day. Traveling with a baby can be challenging sometimes. This cottage provided us with a cute playpen/crib and baby blanket. Such a nice touch. Communication was quick and easy. We tried our best to keep the place clean and leave it as we arrived. Would definitely recommend this place to any family visiting Julian.

No “didn’t likes”

All the interior updates and the homey, comfy feel of beds, bedding, furniture, and appointments. All are of good quality, clean, and useful; like flashlights in bedside drawers and in other areas of the house, plenty of kitchenware, a large fridge/freezer with filtered water and icemaker, lots of towels in bath. The breakfast voucher was pretty great too. Loved the cafe in town! We appreciated Cara’s greeting and generosity when we were having breakfast. She’s the real deal!

There was not a thing that I didn’t like. The cottage was perfect.

The Julian Cafe cottage was absolutely breathtaking! The cottage was beautifully decorated and had all the necessities we needed. The board games were a big hit for our little family. Really made us feel right at home. Being a mile away from downtown Julian was a plus.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a rental. The property was uninhabitable — when we arrived, the indoor temperature was nearly 90°F, making it unsafe to stay, especially with children. My three kids immediately developed headaches and we had to leave shortly after check-in. The property description was misleading. We searched specifically for a place with air conditioning, yet upon arrival, we found out there was none — only two small fans. When we contacted the owner, she dismissed our concerns and only suggested “opening the windows.” No real solution was provided, and not once did she acknowledge the danger to our family. We never stayed the night and had to return home, which completely ruined our trip. Despite providing video evidence of the unsafe temperature and asking for a refund, the owner refused. I have filed a formal complaint and, if necessary, will be pursuing this matter in court. Future guests should be aware: this property is unsafe in warm weather, the listing is misleading, and the host is uncooperative and dismissive of guest safety.
