I’m sure everybody else will say the same thing. It is a quaint, quirky, fun place to stay. When you show up after a long day of driving and you are exhausted, not so much. You have to haul all your stuff up 3 flights of stairs and your tired legs complain. You try to relax but the sun is facing your room (even though you don’t have a view of the ocean) and there is no air conditioner. It is 90 degrees in there and all you have is a fan. You open all the windows and even the door to get some air. Not good.

Location-you can walk from the hotel to anywhere in town in 5 minutes. In your bare feet! The breakfast on the sundeck was simply awesome. Made me want cappuccinos every day!

No elevator! We are 78 and 79 it’s tough for us to take our luggage up two flights of stairs - not impossible, but tough. Of course we could have gotten the rooms on the second floor!!! And not taken both bags up!!!!

Not really a complaint, but building was a bit difficult to navigate, all stairs everywhere.

The location was wonderful. The roof terrace was lovely, and the breakfast was very good. Pie and ice cream between 7-8 was a fun addition. Staff was very attentive and helpful.

Loved it all!

We loved Inn at Avila Beach! As others have said (which helped us select the hotel ourselves), the special touches make this a gem of a stay. We took advantage of the breakfast on the sky deck (everything was delicious), the pie and ice cream in the evening, the coffee/tea and snacks throughout the day, and the free bikes and beach gear. We did it all, and we felt completely spoiled. On top of all that, the room was beautiful. We loved the wood paneling and ocean-inspired tile; lovely interior. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the location in Avila Beach was superior. We had an incredible stay and look forward to a repeat visit as soon as possible.

Our room seemed very dark and the bed was too high for me. I had to climb in and then slide out, next visit i would request a different room with a lower bed.

It’s run down. Poor lighting in the room. While we aren’t handicapped this place requires the use of stairs to get to your rooms. If there were ramps we didn’t see them. That’s the basic architecture of the place and that’s the way it is. I didn’t like that the rooms faced the walkway and people could look in your rooms if you didn’t close the blinds. Even so we would stay there again because we liked it so much. Parking is not ample and the spaces are small. No problem for us this time.

It is really a great location. The 4th floor is an amazing place to hang out. The room had everything we needed. The bed,while it was sort of weird like a captains bed, was super comfortable. The staff was great. Nice little place to make coffee or microwave a snack. Beach chairs and beach bikes you could use.

This place was the best for a Honeymoon. Beautiful rooms excellent staff. Breakfast was exquisite in the morning. Ice cream sandwiches and popcorn to snack on during the day and the most delicious pie and ice-cream in the evening. Besides that the spa in the room was a new experience and was definitely needed after a long day running around on the beach.

The view was amazing! I loved that there was a lounge bed on the patio where we could hang out and sip our wine and enjoy the sunset.
