Beach chairs and umbrellas were not available. It would be wonderful, even on a rental basis, if the hotel had them available for guests.

All of the staff was superb - friendly, helpful, efficient. I appreciated the daily newspaper, beach towels and the free parking.

I really enjoyed my stay at Ilima Hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and had a full kitchen, which was super convenient. I also had a nice view from the balcony, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is great — just a few blocks from Waikiki Beach, but in a quiet area. The staff were friendly and helpful, and parking was free, which is a big plus in Honolulu. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it’s charming, affordable, and has everything you need. I would definitely stay again.

At first, we were given a room facing the buildings, even though I had booked (and paid for) a room with a mountain view. When I politely asked to switch rooms, the staff explained there were no more available (why?). We weren’t ready to give up — a couple of hours later we went back to the front desk and asked again, this time mentioning we would like to speak with a manager. In the end, they were able to help us without involving a manager. We paid an extra ~$100, since the new room had a bigger bed and moved. So my advice: don’t be afraid to kindly speak up if something’s not right — especially if you paid for it. I still highly recommend this hotel!!!

The rooms are stylish, spacious, and super comfortable. The location was perfect — just a ~3–5 min walk to the Waikiki Beach area. Parking is included, and there were plenty of spots available. One of the biggest pluses for me was having a kitchen in the room — so convenient! There’s also a balcony, and the view from our room was just stunning. I had specifically booked a mountain view — so stunning!!!

Nothing negative to say about this hotel. We LOVE it here, it feels like home, and it has everything we want out of a hotel and more.

We loved everything about it. Excellent location, centralized in Waikīkī but also somewhat away from the really crazy part of Waikiki. Room was spacious, LOVED the kitchenette that included all the utensils and plates we needed to eat takeout or leftovers. Fridge was nice and big to hold cold drinks, AND an included water pitcher for cold water! Great touch! Bed was super comfy and nice, soft pillows. Room was clean, balcony view was great, free parking, and ALL the staff were so nice, kind, and hospitable.

The beds were stiff and pillows needed to be firmer. The pool was so cold we didn't even use it it and that was upsetting bc we would of liked to use it one of the reasons u get a hotel with a pool

The pleasant, friendly atmosphere. The staff was amazing, the room was spacious and the kitchenette was very clean and modern. The location was excellent, close to Kuhio restaurants, shopping and Waikiki Beach. We look forward to staying there again.

We loved everything about the whole establishment and the staff. We arrived at least 2 hours early and the room was already good to go. The staff was one of the nicest and caring staff I have seen and I'm in the hotel industry... The room was equipped with everything that you need and the grocery and convenient stores are one block up and the beach was also in walking distance.

The air-conditioning was a little noisy, and the fan squeaky. There is carparking available, but the spaces are quite tight. These are certainly not deal-breaker issues and we would happily stay again.

This hotel is amazing value for money if you are looking for a hotel in the heart of Waikiki. The staff were friendly and helpful. I appreciated the daily maid service. When you are traveling with kids who spend their days moving between the pool, the beach and snacks, a daily clean up is of value and not something that happens in a lot of hotels anymore.

The noise (next to a hangout for young adults and smokers of all types), the multiple individual A/C units also added to noise, low water pressure in shower, small pool, no hot tub, paltry exercise room and sauna.

Location, friendly staff, fully furnished room with kitchen, thoughtful guest details (like USB lamps and built in drawers and headboard), cleanliness, and value.

This property is dated, and you can see evidence of this everywhere if you prefer to. Soundproofing is minimal, which is paired with a pretty busy road nearby. Jalousie-type windows are quite noisy as well.

The size of the Standard Studio with Kitchen room was decent, plus you have a fully functional kitchenette to help you save a little bit on breakfasts and other meals. While the hotel is dated, it was very clean and fully functional. Location is great too, very close to main streets and places to eat. Parking spaces are pretty tight, but parking is included in your rate which is unheard of on Waikiki. Unlimited towels are provided for your beach days.

The kitchen had very little. Coffee and green tea were provided along with sugar and dehydrated creamer but I think salt and pepper should also be provided at the very least. Also the knives were dangerously blunt.

The staff were absolutely lovely, the location was perfect, safe and secure, spotlessly clean, nice view, great little balcony, nice to be able to open a window. It is not a luxury hotel but it is honest.
