Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI was a little misinformed about breakfast at one point, in that it was apparently buffet only, but it does indeed contain an a' la carte option, though I unfortunately didn't get to experience this, there is always next time, and the staff more than made up for this :) There's a refillable bottle given during check-in and a large glass carafe you're provided in the room with which to fill up with water at the stations located on each floor. The reason I didn't like this was just the inconvenience of walking back and forth to fill it up, so you can either opt for a large pack of bottled water from Target nearby or just get used to it like I did. To be fair, providing already filled bottles would likely make quite a dent in the housekeeping schedule, so this is an understandable compromise. Although ideally the provision of say, a 500ml bottle a day could be possible, and included in the price of the room I reckon.
The hotel is well-located for transport links from Union Station or Montgomery as well as relevant bus stops (such as for the Golden Gate Bridge visitor centre route) and tram stops. It's also a fair 20 minute walk to the ferry building which itself is close to a lot of the pier-related attractions like Pier 39. I tried the buffet breakfast and whilst quite pricey it was certainly very good with some bespoke options and very good quality food. The gym is very well-equipped compared to other hotel gyms and is large in size, as well as being quite popular! I believe the hotel hosts a lot of guests for work as well as leisure and this may have reflected in the gym's popularity. The staff were all really helpful and informative and all my requests were met. The housekeeping team especially did a superb job each day in keeping the room really neat, clean and tidy. Fortunately I got a room on the 25th floor so the views were very nice indeed and I'd look forward to hopefully being in the same room again, if not one of those corner rooms.

GreeceThe lounge access and especially the breakfast is a joke. Definitely doesn't worth the extra money. Worst coffee ever, very poor quality and variety and rude waiters. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience completely lowered my overall impression.
Very central location, super comfy bed and spacious room. Helpful front desk staff. 20usd voucher was a nice touch.

CanadaWe stayed at the hotel for 5 days, and it was the best experience. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily and very thoroughly. The hotel has everything you need and more. We especially liked the filtered water fountain on the first floor and really enjoyed the view of the city. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to San Francisco.

United KingdomThe room had an interconnecting door which let a lot of sound in from the occupants in the adjacent room. We had to ask for assistance twice from hotel staff.

AustraliaI'm afraid I have nothing to offer here - as this hotel exceeded all my expectations.
This Hyatt was only one block from SFMoMA - one of the key attractions for my SF visit. The cultural centre across from MoMA had a big weekend food festival - offering many options. The room was spacious, the bed super comfortable and the "market" for coffee, breakfast and snacks was really terrific. Also, incredibly convenient with many public transport options - including one quick train to the international airport.

United StatesOn the pictures when I reserved the hotel, it showed an indoor pool, this was a bit misleading because there was not pool; however, I still enjoyed the hotel.
I liked that breakfast was included and being able to go to the room with the snacks.
