I don’t much care for single-ply toilet paper.

I love restored majestic “grande dame” hotels, and Hilton has done a wonderful renovation with this one. Rooms are huge and quiet. Good tv options.Restaurant and bar were quite good. EVERY staff member was friendly, kind and efficient.

Less use of single-use plastic water bottles would be good. Perhaps reusable pitcher and glasses?

This was one of the cleanest small hotels I've been in in the U.S. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the central location was excellent for exploring Utica. The proximity to the Train Station is an added plus.

The front desk was never very welcoming whenever you entered or left and not at all welcoming on arrival. The food was very mediocre at the restaurant. Staff complained about how short staff they were. And the food and alcoholic drinks were very expensive. Certainly quality did not meet the price.

    The beds were very comfortable.

How they keep the past alive. If it's not broke don't fix it. I will take old school craftsmanship over new construction methods used today. It costs at least 4 or more times as it did in the past. And might last maybe 25 years then you need to rebuild again. Wish I was around when they had the billiard tables in the basement. Keep maintaining the historical history.

The size of the elevators. The hotel was built in 1912 so that's luxurious for 1912!

My grandson said it was the best bacon he's ever had. Kudos to the chef from Nigeria. Next time we will try his specialty. It was great to have AHL teams staying at the hotel, since the USA Ice Hockey National Championship for 18 tier 2 teams was across the street, Very Cool!

The restaurant/bar could have been open a little longer.

Wow! What a beautiful hotel. It looked like a movie set and we stepped back into the 1930's. The beds were very comfortable. The room was very clean. TV had a lot of channels. Bathroom was spacious. We explored the hotel on our own, then Matt at the front desk gave us a guided tour with all of the haunted history. The architecture is so fascinating. Looking forward to my next visit. Everyone was exceptionally nice and friendly.

I’ve stayed at this property several times, never do they have the “Doubletree cookies” available. I always have to buy a tin in order to get them. The breakfast that is included is never stocked. Just don’t include it. They could just say coffee available like any other hotel.

Beautiful hotel, rooms are always clean and stocked.

I was surprised that room service was not provided. It would have been nice to have additional towels, as my friend and I went through the first batch of towels the first morning of our stay. I had some paperworks that I discarded, so it would have been nice to have had the wastebaskets emptied. The room was warm (it was in the 20s in Utica, so heat was a plus), but my friend complained or HVAC system noise. For me, the noise was minor as the heat was major. Good heat was far more important than a little noise. There was a problem with the shower gel dispenser in our room. My friend had to go to the front desk to get another dispenser; she was hoping to have the dispenser delivered to the room by room service staff. My friend complained that her steak was somewhat undercooked. However, she ended up eating all of the steak nevertheless.

The hotel is a short distance by vehicle from the bus and rail station, which is a stop for Amtrak, Flixbus, Greyhound, and a local area bus service. The hotel is in the heart of downtown Utica, and there are some restaurants, a post office, and some banks nearby. The hotel itself has large-sized rooms, highly professional staff, a restaurant and bar, and a mezzanine area that can be used for special events. Parking is available in a lot, as on the street parking is not permitted in the area. Some public transportation is nearby. Kudos to all the restaurant and bar staff. I had a tasty hamburger my first day and enjoyed two nice drinks the second day. Bar and wait staff were patient with my friend, who had trouble deciding the drinks she wanted. Several options were provided, and she ended up finding a drink to her liking.

The room service came in a paper bag. Something they instituted with Covid, but seems it’s time to go back to a nice room service with price it costs.

Great location and appears to be the only really nice hotel in Utica. Nice room and lovely staff.
