Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe actual room the pods were in was very crowded, especially once people bring in their suitcases etc. I just had a little bag so it was easy to just pull it into my pod but if you have a lot of stuff you might find it annoying trying to go in and out of your bags as there's not much for space (or everyone else will find it annoying haha). The common area was a bit shabby but fine, everything worked.
Good value for money (for DC, which is expensive!). The little pods are nice and very comfy. Great location by the subway.

United StatesShowers are shared and there is no socket to charge phone inside capsules, and capsules doesn't have door that closes and opens with card as I expected, just sliding curtain. There was only 4 sockets for the whole room. Location are a bit far away from most popular attractions
Capsules; shower room, restrooms and lifts where clean and mattress was comfortable and there was kitchen with sink, microwave, fridge and table on my floor(usually in other hostels there is only one shared kitchen in the first floor only)

United KingdomNo microwave or kettle would be good if there was a little kitchen area that is available to use as I wanted to make tea there was hot water but it had coffee in the machine, lockers where a bit dodgy, and also staff not always available when needed checking in was not easy as I was only sent confirmation for one of our pods had to wait on a message to get the other checked in. Phones do not charge very well in the pod.
Loved the idea of staying in a capsule always wanted to and such a different experience to have

CanadaMy pod didn't charge neither my phone nor my portable battery. I had to request to change my pod when they did it - they forgot to send me my reservation number for "Gokey", which is the app that opens the main door and your room door. Without it you won't be able to enter the building or your room. Having it was fun - I could text reception directly and they'd reply fast since it's a chat room. In that app you can also see their coffee shop menu. But I personally prefer old traditional plastic card that opens you the door or just simple password. I didn't like that showers were only on underground L floor. I didn't like that reception people rotated too often - cuz most of them unpaid. They use some kind of app "work and travel" where you can stay at hostel for free if you agree to work couple of hours per day. Fridge on second floor were small. The entire neighborhood were full of black clubs and were very noisy at night. You can sleep inside but going outside at night would always - somebody will always argue or fight, motorcycles will pass by, music playing.
It was room for girls. It was safe. They run AC 24 hours so was relatively cold. It was good location. Bus will take you to capitol hill.

United StatesIt was hard to find a place to plug in my phone to charge it. There were not many outlets in the room, and the one I found was in a strange location behind a pod. It would be helpful if there was some instruction on how to acease outlets. The lighting by the shared sinks and mirrors was dim. It would be helpful to be able to turn on a brighter light, even if it weren’t on all the time. No one was unpleasant, but there was a strange vibe of no one talking much to each other either. That might just have been that particular mix of guess that night, but it felt weird. On the other hand, people left their luggage out, and there didn’t seem to be any question of doubting the trustworthiness of the other guests.
This is a very affordable place in an expensive city. This was my first time sleeping in a pod. It’s a neat experience. It would’ve been a little easier if I weren’t on the top deck. I didn’t mind climbing down the steps, but I wasn’t sure if I was disturbing my neighbors. However, I didn’t hear any complaints. The showers were clean. The checkout was easy. It was great that the hostel was located so close to a metro stop.

United KingdomPods creaked alot when other people moved. Steps seemed to be loud when people used them to get up onto the top pods. (May have just been the way those specific individuals used them?). - headphones solve both of these issues, some noise expected in shared rooms.
Pods were spacious and individually temperature controlled. 2 USB ports. Bag storage before room is ready. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy check in / out Good location for public transport & sightseeing. Plenty food options close by.

United StatesCommon area floors creaked a little, scared of waking guests. My pod’s air vent needed cleaning, was dusty. But the room itself was air conditioned so I didn’t use it no worries.
Great location, right around the corner from metro station. Checkin was seamless, QR code guided you through self-checkin. Pods were comfy, rooms were quiet at night. Staff were so nice and accommodating. Cafe area was a nice vibe to just chill and lounge with other guests.

United KingdomSome areas looked a little tired but I always saw staff making a good effort to clean. Showers down in the basement was a bit inconvenient but not a major issue. Maybe some more events for solo travellers looking to socialise would be ideal. No standard mains plug in the pod so remember a usb type a lead to charge phone/electronics!
Pods were comfortable and felt more private than standard bunks. Excellent location with metro station around the corner and plenty of restaurants/bars nearby. Staff were generally welcoming.
