How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe hotel is located near the city's library and cathedral. The view from the window is gorgeous. I had a room for 3 people, a double bed, very comfortable and a sofa bed. Between them you could draw a curtain for privacy. The room looks very good, there is also a refrigerator and a mini kitchen, washing products in the bathroom, quality towels and linnen.
Poor breakfast, coffee, milk ran out and were not refilled. The water dispenser as well.

Verified reviewLoved the hotel and it was in a good central location downtown. The building was very nice, updated and clean. Loved the pool table and lounge area and the breakfast was good.
The surrounding area was under construction with condemned buildings and road closures. Also I was unaware there was no parking for guest. We either had to pay hourly for street parking at a meter or pay daily for valet parking.

Verified reviewIt is not a bad walk to either Enterprise Center or Bush Stadium. Just be aware that the downtown area does have a lot of people living on the streets.
Parking was expensive with the valet. They did say free in and out but the line was always very long to get you car.

Verified reviewHotel and Staff were amazing, clean spacious great for amenities transport links were great for what we needed. The receptionist that works every evening (sorry jet lag - so I can’t remember her name) was incredibly warm and caring and took an active interest in our trip and the well being of my son which meant the world to myself and my wife. I also want to praise the hotels flexibility my wife wanted to add my son after the booking was confirmed and there was no question or trouble to amend for us and we are so grateful for all you did for us before and during our stay. A really warm homely place to stay. A great American vibe.
The area was not as nice around it and lots of agitated homeless people - the hotel done a great job in security and managing any trouble but the area is not somewhere we would come back to.

Verified reviewNothing
Room was not ready at 16.00 we had to wait until 19.00 before getting our room. No extra bedding for the sofabeds and although this was rectified quickly by the 1 member of staff on the reception desk there were no pillows available. Breakfast was a disaster, hardly anything available. No support from any managers, although staff seem to be trying hard it’s managed extremely badly. Having stayed in the same facility in Nashville which was amazing I cannot understand how they can get it so wrong. Shame as it could be great.

Verified reviewAll of the staff were incredibly friendly and nice! The breakfast was also very good. The location overall (minus construction blocking a road nearby) was very close to many places around St. Louis we wanted to visit.
As I said earlier, the staff were wonderful. However, I never saw more than one worker scheduled at one time. This meant the 3 times I had to call to the front desk to request items (ex. we needed sheets and pillows for the pull out couch) went unanswered. When I walked down to go in person, there were about 6 people checking in at one. The hotel also had a text option for any needs and those requests were also not fulfilled. We got back to the room around midnight after asking for sheets around 8pm and they were not in the room. Our room never got room service, despite saying they would be doing a full clean every other day. This also meant we did not get our toilet paper refills and had to awkwardly walk down to the lobby (because again, we were put on hold for upwards of 5 minutes the two times we called). This seems to be more of a scheduling issue - everyone was so nice when we came down but they were definitely working overtime!!!

Verified reviewThe room was very spacious, including the bathroom. For a room that size I’d usually expect to pay well over $250/night so value was excellent. The gym facilities were clean and modern. Staff was friendly and polite. Location is about 1 mile from the arch, which was a perfect walking distance for me.
I found the bed to be a little too hard and the pillows were somehow like lumpy air… continental breakfast options certainly were available but were slightly under expectations.
