How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

View wasn’t great. Smoke detector was placed so people in bed were disturbed by the flashing light all night long.
Decent breakfast. Comfy bed. Great desk lamp.

Spendy. Over $200 per room but in a small community so I feel like we’re being taken advantage of. Put us in a handicapped room but didn’t fully explain the features so we couldn’t get the privacy curtains down. Toilet seat was broken.
Nice location. Clean comfortable room. Nice breakfast. Nice staff.

Everything over all was great, the breakfast was good. The only things that were not excellent were the cleanliness of the room we stayed in and the elevator was very slow which was a surprise since it’s a new building. Our room you could tell that the shower was not cleaned and there was empty bottles of liquor in the shelves under the sink.

Just missing a hot tub!
Very good breakfast. Pretty decent coffee, too! Beds were comfy and the shower was excellent. Great for a family. We would stay again.

We had really rude young neighbors which were not the fault of the Holiday Inn. But due to having a room with a shared internal door it made our night much noisier. They woke us up gaming at 5 am. They were very rude when we finally knocked on their door and asked them to quiet down.
Location was convenient and easy to find.

To rate it with a 10 I would be great if you had gluten an lactose free products in the morning. There was only one banana and hard eggs. It you had lactose free milk and gluten free bread or pastry, it would be great.
The place was clean, and the staff was excellent. They answer all are questions, and were really nice to recommend us good place to go out and eat.

someone should monitor the pool, it was way full. i am not sure if you have rules on how many can be in there at once but i would guess that is something that should have a max on it.

My hubby wasn't a fan of the pillows they weren't fluffy enough for him. He is a one pillow guy.
The staff member Angel was very helpful and gave us some great information about the area.We came to see the area for possibly moving to it. We will stay again for sure!

although the patio off the main lobby had a lot of charm, it needed some serious landscaping done.
The location of the hotel and the charm of the facility is very nice. The outside patio off of the main lobby is very nice.

The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and had a lot of options. My husband really appreciated the clean fitness center as well. The location is fairly convenient to get to from the interstate.

On the "truck stop" end of The Dalles--easy to find, but not near the cute downtown or breweries. Staff was extremely meh -- didn't even check my i.d.
Standard Holiday Inn Express rooms, easy parking and easy to find from I-84. Nice breakfast area and array.

There was a used towel in the bathroom when we arrived. Apparently missed by the cleaning person. Also, there was no room cleaning during our stay.

Try to get more staffing. The poor girl that checked us in during the evening/night was also working the morning shift.
Breakfast was great. The staff didna fantastic job considering their process for making keys was shut down due to the Microsoft incident. They made coming in and out of our room as smooth as possible.

Extend the breakfast hours on weekends to 10:30 or 11:00 am. Bed was comfortable but bottom sheet would not stay in place and kept untucking itself from corners of bed! Most annoying! A new hotel but given the location, I felt it was overpriced.
Room size was bigger than expected. Liked the electronic window treatments. Facilities were very clean and staff was cordial and helpful. We needed a bath mat for tub and staff assisted us immediately.

It was right off the highway, so noisier.. And it was pricey for where the facilities were.
I liked the actual stay and the breakfast. Beds were comfortable.

Everytime I left my room - I could not get back in because the key-card expired. This required multiple trips to the desk & waiting.
