How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The temperature in our room was set to 63 and the thermostat was not working. The front desk, though pleasant, was not able to provide any assistance other than offering to move us to another room.
It had everything needed for a one night stay.

The bar fridge in my room was broken and I was settled by the time I noticed. The soft furnishings could use a bit of a clean up

The attached restaurant was great, they didn’t have a lot of choices but the quality was excellent. The bartender was absolutely friendly and kept everyone talking and entertained. The room which was a double queen room was great. The beds were super comfortable. The setup was nice and the showers were hot. The pool was closed due to renovation so that stunk, was very much looking forward to getting some exercise in. Overall one of the better places to stay in Bangor.

There were a lot of rowdy kids in the pool that were being awful and using all the pool towels and after I had spoken to them multiple times about splashing and hitting and whipping with towels and using all the towels I told the front desk who did not even bother to do a thing so I took my kids back to the room because they didn’t feel comfortable or safe swimming in that.
It was a good location and not a bad price.

Some items need to be upgraded or replaced. The door cards worked sporadically and the window shade track needed to be tightened.
Clean room, comfortable. Location is excellent for the business we were in Bangor for.

The beds were so comfortable. We all slept well. The breakfast was good and kept up going for most of the morning hiking in Acadia. The staff was so friendly and helpful!

When I booked I called this location to confirm there was a shuttle to local events. I was told yes! Upon arrival, the front desk clerk said no shuttle service to downtown, only the airport. I was pretty upset, since I had planned on using the shuttle for mode of transport to the concert venue. (Pretty much the only reason I booked this hotel). Luckily I was able to make arrangements with my niece to give my group a ride to the show. Our return to the hotel was going to have to either Uber or taxi. Fast-forward to that time and all options were completely booked and unavaliable. As a last chance effort I called the hotel to see if they could pick us up at the casino. This front desk clerk said yes! Thank god! We were able to be picked up across the street from the casino about an hour after the show. So it seems the shuttle is on a person to person basis?! Not really a good way to keep customers coming back. 🤨
The room was clean and the bed was super comfy.

Continental breakfast was only for 2 and was $13 for an extra person? Seems odd to me given that we booked for 3 people. It felt like they were trying to get as much money as possible during a busy time.

The was confusion at check-in, as somehow my name had been entered incorrectly into the system after my reservation using booking.com. My first name was shown as my last name, and vice versa. Also, the drain had issues, and the key to one of our two rooms failed the second night and needed to be replaced.
