Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room's decor was a little dated, and a few of the shades had broken wands that made it a little hard to close for privacy.
Our room was really big...We checked in very late for just one night and I think they gave us a honeymoon suite!!! it was very roomy and nice!!! We only learned that half of the building dated back to the early 1900's when we were checking out and wish we had more time to explore it further.

United StatesWe requested the master suite and thought we would get the room like in the picture. It turned out they did not have that one but there was another master suite on the second floor with no view. The info online was not really accurate (room not like the picture). The hotel is getting old and needs more maintenance or renovation.
Historic Inn. Convenient location to great restaurants.

United StatesNo microwave, that would have let us have hot oatmeal. Everything else was fabulous.
This hotel lets you experience history. We loved our beautifully decorated room and the thoughtful staff. My husband loved the solid mahogany furnishings. Their refrigerator and coffee machine let us have a healthy cold breakfast, but a microwave would have been perfect.

United StatesI was informed after I arrived that the card I provided A debit Master Card was unacceptable as they didn’t like my bank. They didn’t have any problem accepting it to reserve the room however and I have used this card for the previous two years. Very strong unpleasant odor. I had reserved a queen room with a garden or city view. Instead I got a double bed with a view of a roof. The screen had been pulled away from the window quite a bit as if someone outside had tried to break in. Had my husband not already unpacked and settled into the room while I attended the first session of our convention, I would have asked for a different room (comparable to what I reserved) or a reduced rate.
I love the history and this is the third year our group has used this hotel for our convention. The restaurant is amazing and the staff are very efficient and friendly

United StatesWhile I liked the old-school nature of the hotel (not everything needs a modern makeover), it also felt a little musty and rough around the edges. There were small things like different types of light bulbs in the room, the curtains felt like they'd been there for 40 years, and the balcony was nice to have, but the chairs and table were shabby and when we arrived at the room there were empty beer bottles with cigarette butts in them on the balcony table.
I stayed at this property with my husband for our wedding anniversary to visit some local sites. I appreciated the historical elements of the property and the antique style furniture. Our room was spacious and had a small balcony to sit on. There was a separate sink area with a coffee pot and refrigerator. No microwave, though the front desk offered to send one up. Very comfortable bed. The on site restaurant, The Century Room, was perfect for our anniversary dinner. Food and cocktails were excellent and service was great. The hotel is walking distance to several other decent restaurants, including The Pantry- a nice breakfast spot. Plentiful and free parking. I would stay here again.

United KingdomIt’s quite noisy due to being near a busy road but we slept well despite this.
Staff were really friendly and as this is our honeymoon treated us to a complimentary dessert and room upgrade! The room was large and airy with a huge bed. Free parking also very handy.

United StatesWe truly love the older section of the property, but rooms in close proximity to ice/vending machines are quite loud. We stayed in room 248. I don’t recommend it.
Centrally located and the best value in its class for Santa Maria. Generally this market is quite overpriced.

United StatesWe booked the Kent Room for a Celebration of Life for my brother, who passed away. Marko was an excellent host who accommodated our needs, including using the video/screen system. Also, I went to eat at the restaurant on site and was very happy with the food and the service. Jimmy was great!
