Room very clean but smelled a little musty

I wish I would have known about the place sooner. It was amazing and we plan to go back. The water did leak from our room and we were interrupted during showering, but we understand that things can happen.

I would have preferred a full breakfast with an extra cost; however, the coffee and scone, bagels, etc were acceptable. The place was beautiful and waking up on the lake is really nice. Lots of amenities.

There was the lodge which had rooms and then an 8 unit motel on property which is where we stayed. Loved the vintage decor in the rooms. There were 2 metal chairs and a small table outside each room where you could sit and take in the beautiful lake view. Our room and bathroom were IMMACULATE, although the carpet and flooring had a few stains. The room had a bit of a musty cabin smell but will not detour us from returning.I am usually pretty particular about hotel rooms, and this did not disappoint. Lots of xharacter

The owners and staff were so nice! The inn is beautiful, rooms totally updated and beds super comfy; we did not see the motel rooms, but those looked very cool from a distance. We loved hearing about the history of the property. The setting is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Cannot wait to return!

Wish I had stayed in the historic lodge in order to enjoy that lovely old building. The weather was not not such as to make use of the lake amenities unfortunately.

The owner has put so much effort into restoring and updating this property, it is a hidden gem in Michigan. Beautiful setting on Trout Lake, close to St Ignace and Whitefish Point.

Need to upgrade the juice selection to juices for adults (cranberry, orange), not sugary drinks like cherry punch.

Breakfast was in the lodge. Very nice room with multiple tables. Historic preservation throughout the Inn. Beautiful. Lovely sitting room on the second floor for everyone. Room was lovely - large, comfortable with bed and upholstered sitting chairs, walk in shower.

Water could have been a tad hotter for the shower, and if at all possible it would be more picturesque to have the car parked in the back instead of in front.

A little bit of heaven on earth…for people who like nature, beauty, quiet and an authentic, tastefully designed place to stay. Excellent touch of mid-century design in the motel room where we stayed. Jack, the host’s dog, was sweet and friendly!

Nothing we didn’t like.

The setting was amazing. Quiet and comfortable. Owners were fantastic and room was cozy. One of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept on while traveling!

Breakfast was a lacking. I don't love to fill up on sugar in the morning, as much as the home made muffins are a lovely touch. Would have liked a microwave to properly heat the oatmeal. Yogurt, fruit, bagels would have been nice. Even cold cereal. I went away hungry. Food facilities are not abundant and the breakfast didn't cut it. It's really my only complaint. If food is an issue for you, maybe plan on bringing some substantial food of your own for breakfast.

This hotel is impeccable. The interior matches the time period that the building was built and everything was pristine and so very comfortable. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and it was so quiet at night. This is a good place to explore the Tahquamenon Falls, dog sledding, Whitefish point lighthouse and more. Super kind and friendly owners, and a sweet dog on the property. I would happily return.

What a wonderful and memorable experience! The lodge itself is a lovely building full of character, and set against a beautiful Lake in close proximity to many interesting sites. The rooms (including sitting rooms, lobby, and dining room) were all thoughtfully appointed with historic furniture, objects of art and creative thematic accents. Beds and linens are of the highest quality, and all conveniences are provided for. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. we look forward to returning.

A coffe pot in the rooms would be nice for early risers and a hot breakfast would be nice but not a deal breaker.

The room was great and very comfortable for the evening. There were available chairs to sit outside and watch the sunset.

They are working on getting a liquor license so there is no bar yet and very limited food service. If the noise of a train whistle bothers you though, this might not be the place for you.

Beautiful location on Trout Lake. Lovely, newly remodeled interiors with beautiful updated bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean.
