Alexandra, the inn keeper, made our stay the most enjoyable experience! She is one of the best I have ever met. Her service and hospitality were excellent. We will return to the Hideway as our Santa Barbara accommodation.

They said that breakfast was included from 8-10 but when we went down at 9:00 to get it, it was completely unorganized. We stood there for a few minutes, but the person at the front desk did not acknowledge us. All that was out was tea/coffee, fruit, and danishes, but it looked like some guests had eaten eggs from the dishes left on tables. It didn’t appear like there was any wait staff. We ended up walking out, checking out before check out time, and going to purchase breakfast elsewhere. Also, parking was very tight for larger vehicles.

Very cute hotel. Rooms were darling and completely redone. Love the addition of a tea pot to make tea/coffee in the morning.

We lived in room #1, The noise of children running around at 8am and the 8:30 blender kept us awake, the smell of fried eggs permeated the room and ruined the atmosphere of the room bringing the smell of a school cafeteria to the room..

    Clean, nice facility, good style.

Accessible room faced the road, which was noisy, but the room was large and very comfortable.

Lovely clean, modern room. Freshly prepared breakfast, different option each day with cake baked by the previous day's receptionist. Great location, with parking.

The hotel is in a great location and has a charming atmosphere, but it seems to be lacking in maintenance. The bed frame and rug were extremely dirty (!), the vanity wood was cracking, and the walls and trim were also dirty. It’s unfortunate because it has a lot of potential. They also did not had a crib for our baby. And we mentioned we are coming with one. On a positive note, the breakfast was great.

the room was very small, dark, without a wardrobe, located on the ground floor next to the service passage (no info as we would like to choose other and better) - no privacy because employees were walking around all the time during the day. although the hotel is generally very nice, the experience with the room made it very overpriced at this price, especially since we came for 3 nights to rest. No additional hotel amenities

Free parking and home-made breakfast, generally quiet and intimate, nice design, friendly service

It would be nice to have some kind of wardrobe to hang clothes, not just hooks on the wall. Complementary tea and coffee in the room would be appreciated.

It was very clean. Location was good, close enough to the beach and downtown. Staff were friendly especially William. He was very welcoming and gave good advice about dining. Breakfast was good (fruit, decent coffee, eggs and muffin)

According to the site it is closer to downtown than in reality. The staff at reception and breakfast is extremely unwelcoming and unfriendly. It’s a pity as the place deserves better service.

The room is nice, clean , comfortable and welcoming.

    Listed above.

A quiet room was not offered by having me in the lobby. I had a guest, my newphew and at 6.3 tall offering the rooms a comfortable lounge chair is recommended. The bed, was like a pillow, meaning too worn not firm. I had a view of the street. I received a note asking if I wanted to stay another night at 155.00 which made me feel like I was in a 155.00 dollar room. Overall fine, but a lobby with no way to get a hot beverage of tea at 2 or 3 am when traveling from another time zone is also something to consider. I’m. It complaining I am a business owner myself and if I’m told what can e better, that’s better than loosing my clients. For me the title, The Hideaway, I had hoped to be resting and hidden away. I was polite to the young man at the desk, he was amazing. you lobby needs to offer more amenities, and a table outside the entry to be greeted by morning guests outside my door isn’t private.

I know you can't really do anything about it but the entrance/exit is a bit scary.

Small and quaint. Good location but felt secluded and quiet. Each room felt very private location wise and was very charming inside. The lady who checked me in was great as well and very nice!

The parking garage was small and made it difficult to park our truck. Also, the property is near a freeway so there was plenty of noise.

It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. My room was a perfect size and I liked our private balcony.

We had the King Studio with a “Mountain View”. The view was of the outdoor back stairway. We had to keep our shades drawn because the other guests used those stairs. The room was very small. We couldn’t even open a full sized suitcase without tripping over it. The street it sits on is close to State st. and the harbor, but super busy.

The whole facility was lovely and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and they had air conditioning, which is not always the case in small California inns. The breakfast was delicious.
