Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe had a very bad experience with the elevators. Trash outside takes too long to be collected, attracting flies. The elevators were constantly out of service, and there was a lot of noise from the workers in the mornings. Would it not be possible to have a separate elevator for the workers and another for the guests?
The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful

United StatesThis property is really focused on the family and not folks without kids. It is outdated in some areas and the elevators would be out of order daily.
Hawks cay is a beautiful resort. Extremely family friendly with many children’s activities.

United KingdomA little tired in places and it wouldn’t take a lot to maintain but unfortunately things seemed to be just unkept. Staff weren’t particularly friendly at reception and behind bar but on the other hand some staff were very nice. Bar was expensive for alcoholic drinks especially with tax and tip added. Not much choice of food in evenings as quite remote so would need a car.
This accommodation could be a wow factor as the entrance and pool area are impressive at first glance. Rooms were a good size and clean. Lovely surrounding area.

SwitzerlandGym hours weren’t great (7am-7pm). Kids in the adult section pool. Lady at the reception wasn’t pleasant.
The food at the tiki bar & angler and ale was really good. Room was spacious and comfortable. Better location for families, not the best for couples.

United KingdomDownside to this place was that the majority of staff weren't friendly and at times seemed quite rude. The worst customer service we experienced in Miami/The Keys apart from the bellboy team, who were great. Pool also too busy and food options are pricey. Bike hire times were limiting - we fancied an early morning cycle but couldn't, which was a shame.
Stunning resort located in the mid Keys. Lobby a beautiful welcome and rooms nicely deigned, airy and clean. The little lagoon with free paddle boarding and canoeing for the kids was a nice touch.

United StatesOverall good experience. I would recommend a look at the elevator, it was very slow and getting stuck on the 3rd floor. For the most part the staff was great! TJ and Anthony at the tiki bar provided great service. James at the oasis pool provided great service made us feel like family!

United StatesEverything there was very expensive. Food wasn’t great and too expensive. Drinks were too expensive. $6 for a coffee. We left the resort to eat and brought in our own drinks. It rained a whole day and staff wouldn’t let us sit in the outdoor seating under the covered pavilion to eat breakfast since we didn’t buy breakfast there. That was the only place to sit and enjoy the warm temps and not get wet. That was frustrating. Pool and lagoon swimming closed at 5:30pm everyday. That was really annoying since we didn’t get back to the resort until after dinner and never got a chance to enjoy the pools. Needs to be updated. Wires in bathroom were exposed where there was suppose to be a light. Fridge and phone didn’t work when we first got there and they had to send maintenance to fix them. They came around 9:30pm which was late. Rooms were small.
Good location. Housekeeping did a great job. Pools looked very clean.

United StatesThe rooms could use a little upgrading - like the shower head could have been a bit bigger with stronger pressure. The room could also have used a microwave. There was a fridge but no microwave. Our air conditioner was not up to par; however, that could have been our own fault - worked really well the first night then was just ok the rest of the time until the last night. Kept having to turn it off and on to get it to kick on. It wasn’t too bad, though, as we didn’t even report it.
We stayed for our ten year anniversary. The staff were so nice, especially Karen. Since it was our anniversary, the staff surprised us with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. The lanai room was perfect. Loved having coffee on the lanai and laying out. The adult only pool was steps away and very peaceful. Wonderful views throughout the property!

United StatesWhile the facilities were clean, they were much more run down than I expected at this price point. The carpets in the hallways were thread-bare, and the elevators made so much noise I thought we might get stuck at some point. In the room, there is a handpump of lotion bolted next to the bathroom sink, but no hand soap! So every time we wanted to wash our hands, we had to go into the shower for the soap bolted in there. The king bed was horrendous. It was absolutely hard as stone, and they provided four pillows the size of postage stamps that flatten as soon as your head touches them. Both my husband and I slept horribly and were glad we only booked for two nights.
The location was perfect for us, between our two favorite spots of Islamorada and Marathon. The staff were all welcoming and thorough, especially Jhonae the pool server and bartender Jason at the Pilar Bar. We were able to drop our bags with bell services and relax by the pool until our room was ready, which was wonderful. There's an app that will text you and check in throughout your stay, which we used to make a dinner reservation at 61 Prime without ever leaving the water. Dinner was delicious, and reasonably priced for an upscale steakhouse. We did not valet, yet had no problem finding a self-parking spot as we came and went from the property over our stay.
