The Hanna House is a charming, historic gem right in the heart of New Bern. Staying here felt like stepping into a museum — the atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and full of character. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious!

Not a thing - loved it!

Where to begin... The Klotz's are an amazing team. They were friendly, helpful, and very gracious during our stay. The room was beautiful and comfortable, and the bathroom had the best spa tub my wife has ever experienced. Dr. Klotz made fresh bread for every breakfast and Camille's breakfasts are amazing- highly recommend you try a different one each day, you won't be disappointed. There were warm cookies available in the evening, along with a small glass of port. The home is located in the historic part of downtown New Bern, walkable to almost every sight you might wish to see. They were immensely helpful in answering our questions about the area. We didn't know it until after we checked in, but Camille can also prepare a dinner if you arrange in advance, something we'll definitely try next time we're there.

There was absolutely nothing you dislike about my stay at the Hanna House.

Hanna House is beautifully furnished with carefully chosen antiques, and the location close to the river could not be more convenient. The most notable asset was the spectacular quality of the breakfasts, which were ordered the night before from an unusually varied menu and prepared with striking attention to detail. The eggs Benedict were terrific, and so were the soufflés and creole dishes. Hands down the best bed & breakfast I’ve stayed in here and abroad!

Amazing bed and breakfast property. The house holds a lot of historical interest and numerous antiquities are on display. Spotlessly clean & comfortable accommodation within easy walking distance of the charming town of New Bern, NC. The breakfast is delicious, the choice of freshly cooked items is vast and each is brilliantly executed. We would definitely return if we find ourselves travelling through New Bern again.

We arrived at 3pm and the place appeared closed. We knocked, waited and then left returning twice more later. More knocking and eventually another guest arrived, ignored us and entered! Much more knocking finally raised the owner. She was amazed we hadn’t just tried the front door but as it was shut tight with a delivery package in front it didn’t look welcoming and seemed to us impertinent to open someone’s front door!

This location is excellent. I was able to take leisure walks and enjoy the historic area close to restaurants and waterfront. I enjoyed the New Bern Ghost Tour a five-minute walk away. The breakfast options were plentiful and delicious. The hostess was informative and approachable. The house is historic, and the owner has taken great care to display beautiful antiques.
