How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Parking is very expensive compared to usual hotel parking, should be reviewed. Should put better signs for pools and parking as it’s a bit of a maze.
Perfect location next to Union Square and access to the tram and metro. Airport reachable by metro is great. Pool was nice and rooms were big. Not much noise and the parking was a plus to have.

The bathroom door didn’t close. It wasn’t able to fit in the frame. The bathroom was very dated. The beds were a little too firm for my taste but I still slept well.
It was conveniently located to food, bars, shopping and restaurants. It’s located right in union square so it’s very convenient. The room was extremely clean and neat. The products smelled amazing.

Room with 2 doule beds was a little small for 4 travelling with cases etc - but manageable for a short stay.
Great location ideal for exploring San Francisco. No breakfast or bar at the hotel, but there are many options close by for everyting you need. Welcoming staff.

The pictures on the website make it seem like the hotel is pretty high end, which was misleading because in reality it’s on the older side. Also, i would suggest having more employees around check-out time. There was only one person helping everyone at check out.
The beds were comfortable, room was very clean.

The hotel has a parking lot. However, the parking cost was expensive than I thought.
The hotel location is quite good. It's a 5-minute walk away from Powell Station. Nearby the Union Square. Maybe, this is the traditional hotel. However, the room was kept clear.

The noise from the surrounding of the city was too loud and gave us not the good feeling we expected. Maybe it's possible better to make double windows, so the noise can't hardly come into the bedroom. The airconditioning wasn't working at all! No good feeling about that

The hotel has an excellent location and is very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the room was smaller than expected, and the 'double bed' was more like a single bed, not ideal for two people. At the reception they mentioned it’s a petit room which I was not aware of while reserving . So anyone booking this pls take a note Overall, it was a comfortable stay, but the room size and bed were a bit of a letdown.

Room prep apparently is not their strongest skill: there was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom when we checked in (which I naturally only discovered when I tried to take a shower). The AC did not work at first, and even when I asked about it at the reception and it was turned on, it did not really cool anything down - at least having the fan on was something. The room itself is not as updated as it appears on the picture, the building is quite old and so are the rooms.
The hotel is located less than a block from the Union Square, with easy access to the subway, Market Street, and not too far from Embarcadero and Chinatown. The 24/7 check-in desk is very helpful in case of late arrival. The room was fairly large, but part of the space was used by the hall, and the actual bedroom space felt crammed. The beds were quite comfortable.
