How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Could use some updating but overall wasn’t bad considering what you pay. Bathroom was clean but tub desperately needed to be recaulked. No overhead light in the room at all just two lamps but they worked pretty well and the room got good natural light if you don’t mind the window open. No plugs near the bed except one on the bedside lamp and the two USB ports were completely stripped so they didn’t work.
Looks a little run down from the outside but lobby was updated and room was clean. You really cant beat the price when you’re passing through or just staying a night or two in the area. Bed was clean no signs of bugs and the room had a small refrigerator, desk, and chair. It’s rare for a true budget hotel to have breakfast at all so I wasn’t surprised to find they only had cereal and oatmeal. First room we got had a dead door lock so after the second attempt with new keys we were promptly moved to another room.

The breakfast was not as advertised. Breakfast bars and oatmeal packages were available. There was no hot water to make the oatmeal.

Skip the breakfast and stock up at the store. Coffee, yes, but not much else to offer besides donuts, cold cereal, instant oatmeal packs. Some yogurt, juice, fruit would be nice.
Convenient location for C&O bikers. Close to grocery store. Comfortable, clean room.

The exterior needs a little refresh but would not deter us from staying again. The inside made up for the exterior for sure. Would stay her again 100%.
Location was great for our short trip away from home. Close to a lot of fun things. Enjoyed Cacapon, Berkley Springs. Nothing is far away in West Virginia or Maryland. Young man with curly long hair, I forgot to get his name, at the desk was so nice and helpful, full of advice. Plus he was so friendly. Breakfast is definitely for on the go but worked for us. Rooms were updated and very clean.

Nothing we only stayed like 6 hours, just driving through type thing.
Bed was nice, room as good sized. We checked in late at night and front desk person was very hepful and kind.

I had to change rooms because when I first went into the room I was given, the comforter and bed sheets had looked like somebody slept in it (?)

There were only two pillows on the bed, which was okay but I really prefer three. The curtains let in a ton of light which wasn't ideal. The breakfast was only prepackaged pastries and cereal, which wasn't ideal.
The room was large, comfortable, and quiet which was great. There were lots of channels on the TV which was nice.

The "breakfast" was only pre-packaged danish/coffee cake or instant oatmeal, milk, and orange juice. (The danish was terrible.) I borrowed an ironing board and iron from the office, but it was difficult to find a place to plug in the iron. The lighting in the room was also poor.
The location was superb. The room was very clean. The property is not neglected, but it is also not maintained to the standard some people would expect. It seemed safe. It was a room labelled "No smoking" and smelled fine. The bed was very comfortable.
