Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesSo minor and it may have been written somewhere - we knew we were staying in Emily, but we weren't sure which number to look for once we got there. There are beautiful tassels outside each room with the names, but it was late when we got there and felt a little uncomfortable walking up to each one to read the names. Again, so minor and we will definitely stay here again!
We loved the history, location, beautiful room & bathroom! Basically everything! We highly recommend this beautiful establishment!

United StatesThe air conditioning unit was a bit difficult to operate. It took a video on YouTube to help us understand how to turn on the air, which was necessary since Philadelphia was particularly hot during our stay.
The hotel room was nicely decorated, clean, very comfortable, and offered everything we needed for our stay. The check-in process was seamless and very easy.

United StatesWould be nice to have at least a bathroom in the lounge so when guests arrive ahead of check in time they have a place to refresh themselves while waiting. It is in Philly’s Gayborhood, there are a lot of homeless and addicts in the area - so not child friendly.
Gorgeous interior design and unique boutique atmosphere. Stay at the Eliza room if you can. Beautiful wood paneling, comfortable bed and exquisite moody décor, very clean and full of thoughtful details. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

United StatesBed was a bit too soft for me, but that’s just a personal preference Thank you for the white noise machine. Very helpful because you can hear every floor and stair step outside room. A function of an older house but thoughtful the hosts provided white noise machines.

United StatesCleanliness was questionable. There were used tissues under the bed… YUCK, that were fairly easy to spot when I leaned over just to pick my shoes up. Also handprints and spatter of unknown sorts on the armoire. Like clear and obvious giant greasy handprints. These things were so obvious and gross it’s a bit unsettling that they were missed. Not a dislike BUT after reading reviews I was concerned about noise level and parking. Neither were an issue. There are TONS of parking garages and lots for overnight parking, including one directly next to the hotel. We arrived at 4 p.m. on a Friday and had no issue finding an overnight lot. Also the noise… definitely not as dramatic as people have described. Windows are sound proof. The minute you walk into the hotel, it is in fact eerily quiet lol. There is some ambient noise from the alley way to the clubs out back but being on the 4th floor definitely helped I think. We didn’t use their ear plugs and we slept like a rock.
The ease of “check in”. The fact that you don’t have to wait to check in is fantastic. Just put in your code. Absolutely love the feeling like you’re stepping back in time. Very private and quiet- saw only one other guest the whole time. You are surrounded my “amenities”. I was able to walk one block away and get a mani/ pedi, order take out at 1 a.m. after a concert, and walk to a great breakfast spot the next morning. All within 2 blocks.
