Avoid the restaurant. The bar is great and have a snack but do not stay for dinner. Extremely expensive and awful food. There are very good restaurants close by.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms and houses are really pretty. Beds are small.

The weather! Mother Nature decided it was more important for us to talk and reminice, rather than get exercise.

The suite was beautiful; had plenty of options to just sit and talk, which is what we did. The breakfast was excellent. The evening before we could not get dinner reservations so we asked if we could get a take-out order from restaurant. "Absolutely!" Food was yummy.

It would have been great if the spa had been open but I understand they were in the process of hiring a new director.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Our room was lovely—they upgraded us without us asking. The food was delicious—breakfast was included with our stay. It was a great menu with great selections unlike some inclusive breakfast meals at less upscale B&Bs. They accommodated a few special requests and just made us feel welcomed and made sure we enjoyed our stay. It was our wedding anniversary weekend, so we wanted it to be lovely and it was indeed. The property is also gorgeous which made our stay even better.

The property is very pretty. There is a saltwater pool with a nice view. We stayed in the Stouard Room, and it was a very large room with a huge comfy bed. It also had a sitting room outside the room. We had a storybook view off our private deck. It was very quiet and relaxing. We ate at The Conservatory, and it was delicious, and the service was a 10! The chef even sent out a complimentary appetizer. We ate a hot breakfast at The Bistro. I had the omellete day 1 and the French toast day 2 it was so good. This is a great getaway for couples or for yourself. It was very peaceful and it's not far from the town. If you like a lot of greenery, animals, and delicious food, this is it. I'll be back for sure.

I arrived late due to traffic and they helped me with lovely dinner since the kitchen was closed. Breakfast was also fantastic and my room perfection. Lovely staff and welcome and a beautiful setting. I will return for sure.

We took a hike around the walking trail in the morning. The first mile was well marked but after that we were a little unsure. We eventually found our way back but the markings could have been a little clearer along the whole route.

Beautiful property in lovely rural Virginia. The Hayloft Suite was perfect for a couple’s getaway. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff were attentive and friendly. Dinner at the Conservatory and breakfast at the Bistro were delicious!

Gorgeous location in Virginia horse fox hunting capital! Goodstone is such a beautiful property! Cottages are romantic and cozy. Breakfast is excellent! For an included breakfast it is very gourmet and high end! Lots of options for breakfast to satisfy anyone!

The walls in the building must be pretty thin. Could hear quite a bit from other rooms upstairs.

Dinner was incredible with great service. The location is gorgeous and peaceful. Very nicely appointed for Christmas. Room was comfy.

Room originally assigned was on third floor of a cottage in a low valley far from dining area and very ADA non compatible. The tub/shower combo was hard to use and slippery when entering and exiting.

The colonial motif, stone construction, good finishes throughout, kitchen and living room to share, security locks.

We were very impressed with everything. No one else was staying at the Spring House so we had the whole beautiful house to ourselves. The place was gorgeous as it was decorated for Christmas, was modern, (looked like it was just remodeled), and was comfortable and cozy with a fire in the fireplace. The bed was excellent and the bathroom was everything you could ask for. Dining at dinner and breakfast was delicious! Will definitely keep this place in mind for a spring or summer visit so we can take advantage of the hiking, birdwatching and pool experience.

Wish staff had been more knowledgeable of what was and was not available during my stay. Importantly, wish information of potential amenities and activities would’ve been shared at the time of my arrival. I didn’t learn of the availability of a canoe, bikes, or massage schedule until the morning I left.

Property is dependent on old power lines and well water. Downed trees from wind storms knocked out power to the whole property which consequently cut off ALL water to impacted rooms (no sinks, showers, toilets). Different impacts across the property and a lack of round the clock staffing led to confusion about if power had been restored. Power was out for approximately 15 hrs in the main house preventing meal service. Other parts of the property experienced burst pipes and fire alarms throughout the night. Despite reports that this had recently happened in a similar storm the previous week there did not seem to be back up generators to minimize impacts to guests. Compensation was minimal considering impact and cost of the rooms All that said the staff who showed up in the morning also expecting to have had the power restored were professional and accommodating throughout.

Extremely overpriced and does not meet expectations of a 5 star experience. Staff was pleasant for the most part, but inexperienced, inconsistent, awkward. Food was decent but should have cost half what we paid. At this price the experience should be near perfection, and this place falls short. Sorry, but we probably won’t be back.

Charming hotel with history near Middleburg. The grounds are expansive and beautiful, but I suspect high overhead is driving the exorbitant prices. Seems the venue is geared toward weddings and events which I can imagine would be nice to attend if you weren’t paying.

My room was skunked at 2:00am-5:00am Dinner was awful, had an overcooked dinner and was told a manager would call or talk to us. Never happened. They forgot to take a credit card because I booked on booking dot com and the call me now less than ten times trying to track me down the next day.
