Our room smelled of cigarette smoke, mentioned to front desk and we were given a new room. Outlet near bed was loose, could be a hazard , mentioned this to desk staff at check out, they thanked me and said they would mentioned to maintenance.

The hotel is old and nothing in the fitness center worked. However, it’s only a 10 min drive to the nearest gym.

The attendant was extremely nice and helpful. Made everything super easy and comfortable. The hotel itself is in a good location and the amenities are well kept.

The restaurant closed at 9. And when another table was seated with about 10 mins to go before 9, we thought we had plenty of time to slowly finish our beer. That’s when employees started coming through the restaurant saying “we’re closed”. And they shut off the tv so we couldn’t watch anymore of the game (10 mins before they closed). We kinda laughed it off, but was fairly annoying. The TV in our room didn’t work. We called the front desk and they gave us new batteries for the remote. That wasn’t the problem.

The overwhelming smell of mold and mildew when you walk in the door. The carpets are so saturated with it the it actually shows on your socks if you walk without shoes on. If it hadn’t been a last minute, no refund booking we wouldn’t have stayed. We turned the air conditioning down to 65 for a while and that helped reduce the mustiness while we went to eat. I would suggest replacing the carpets and putting fans in the bathroom instead of the old timer heat lamp dials.

The bed was very comfortable and everything looked clean. Front desk was friendly and the restaurant had very good food.

Not enough towels, had to ask for fresh towels. Requested We didn't need maid service, but we needed enough fresh towels for each day of stay was not honored.

I wish there were screens in the windows bc the few days we spent there the weather at night and in the morning was nice and cool. I would have loved to open the window and let some of that fresh crisp air in. The ac unit in our room wasn’t working very well. We had it cranked all the way down to 60° and the room never once got cold. We had to drive to the nearest Walmart about 10-15 mins away to buy a fan so we wouldn’t be warm in the room. However, the entire 3.5 days that were there, they had maintenance staff cleaning all the AC units on the property. So I’m sure once we left the room, they worked on that AC unit as well.

We loved that it was a smaller roadside motel. The restaurant attached to it has amazing, home cooked food and for a very reasonable price. And they have an outdoor pool as well as an indoor pool and hot tub. The room the indoor pool and hot tub is in is a very large, nice room.

The only minor complaint I had was that the fridge in our room wasn't working (the freezer part was thankfully). And sadly the hot tub wasn't working either.

Loved the hotel! The room was very nice and comfortable. Loved the indoor & outdoor pool. Also, liked that they had a restaurant & other stuff nearby (especially liked that it was near some of Indiana caverns).

The parking can be a little tight depending on where your room is located but we were always able to get a spot that worked for us. There’s not a lot of outlets and the lighting was very poor but that’s common with older hotels. The shower pressure is horrible, they need to update the shower heads. Bathroom is on the small side, and our fridge wasn’t very cold and didn’t have a freezer like most do. The only time we had sleeping problems was when the other guests above us were being crazy loud. The walls and floors are thin, so I’m assuming that’s why we could hear them so much. I would suggest asking for a room on the top level if you can do steps (no elevator) They are not pet friendly unless it’s a service animal.

The hotel staff were super friendly, and the location was okay. Convenient for those who need to visit the base. There’s a convenience store located beside the hotel and a family restaurant behind the hotel. The rooms are dated but have been well maintained. I have to say that the hotel was extremely clean and smelled good. Housekeeping will come every day to clean and bring fresh towels. The beds and pillows were comfortable, we never had any pain from sleeping on a different mattress than our own (I usually always get back pain.) The restaurant located behind the hotel is called Backstreet Cafe. The staff there are wonderful, and the food is good. The one thing that stood out to me was their prices. It was cheaper for our family of four (2 adults & 2 kids) to eat there than any other place we had food at. In today’s economy, we are always looking for the cheapest way to feed our family while out of town. The prices are very reasonable for what you get here. We will definitely stay here again if we visit the area again.

The AC unit doesn't cover the whole room very well. The AC unit is by the sink area and doesn't cool the rest of the room very well.

Pillows were ferm and soft, the bed was comfortable especially for someone with back problems.

I have stayed at this hotel five times this year and two of the times I have been exposed at check-in to a desk clerk named "Terri." Terri is not at all up to par but every other employee at this hotel I have encountered is. Both times, when I checked in, Terri told me there was no vacancy and when I showed her my confirmation that I received via email, she still argues with me that it is not valid because the hotel didn't book the reservation, but the funny thing is - she always comes up with a room for me. I just cannot understand it... It makes ZERO sense. She should be happy to book those rooms and to have guests there... it's how the hotel makes money and without guests, the hotel wouldn't thrive and require her employment. I do have to say, though, that EVERY ONE of the other employees I have encountered have been very nice and courteous and have completed their job with a smile on their face.

The location was fine. I think the hotel provided exactly what I was seeking... It was clean and had a comfortable bed and a nice clean bathroom with a great shower. Everything with the room was fine.
