I really do not see what the hype is for this hotel. I have lived in Texas for 45 years and have always heard great things about the Gaylord. It was terribly overpriced, the water park requires a tram trip and is small, and the room was dated and ugly. On a ten day road trip with a different hotel each night, my family and I rated this hotel dead last. We LOVE the Hyatt Hill Country and I really expected the resort price and reputation to be more like that property. It was not. Do not stay here unless attending a conference. We were also excited about the DC theme for our time there - what a dud. The light show was so bad my kids just went back to our room mid show and the price for any other theme-related item was $25 per kid. Ridiculous. Glad we tried it once, but never again.

The very best part of our stay here was making the call to housekeeping and Lisa answering the phone. She was amazing! Her humor and Texas accent and hospitality were truly above and beyond. I actually told her I loved her at the end of our chat. May we all be so lucky to have Lisa answer the phone when we need something.

Wait time for checking in was over 30 minutes. Only one person at the counter. Additionally, even with late check out, we had to leave early due to the jackhammer noise for the entire morning. It was unbearable.

I would have rated it a 10 if the room had a microwave. We have a young child, so we constantly need to heat up milk and snacks. I may have overlooked the amenities listed on the booking page because I assumed a microwave would be standard. It’s something we consider essential when traveling as a family.

I loved the hotel—the interior, the atmosphere, and the cleanliness, even in the poolside restroom. I also love how the staff are consistently friendly and engaging—not just sometimes, but all the time. Hands down, excellent hospitality service- world class!

No kitchenette for a room of that size, hard to believe for the price paid, no microwave! And the smallest mini fridge under the T.V in the bedroom- why wouldn't it be in main living room area w dining table? Unable to find it, and when we did, it was tiny. Other hotels of cheaper price point offer more in room amenities.

Large room with balcony. Clean. Bathroom double sinks was beautiful with door between shower/toilet so multiple people can get ready at the same time. Comfortable bed. Lots of seating. Restaurant Zeppole good, but also pricey. Staff very nice

The room was very small. They nickel and dime you for everything. $29 per day for self park. Charged my card over $100 for breakfast even though it was prepaid with the reservation. It took several tries to get through their automated phone system to get that resolved.

It's a nice place and the breakfast was great.

Brooms are in dire need of updating. For as much as I paid for the suite you would think I would have decent amenities and shower. It was a bathtub/shower. No shower, caps, Q-tips or extras of any kind. Tried to get a bottle of champagne to be delivered in the room before we arrived, and I was told they could not do that. maybe it’s geared more towards business travel, and group travel I don’t know, but I just think they could do a little better.

    Beautiful grounds. Great restaurants.

Cost of a night’s stay is somewhat prohibitive. While the property has many attractions, some of which are at cost, the quality of the room and general expenses did not adequately compensate the visitor for his/her expense.

The property was very nicely and seasonally decorated. Check-in staff and porters were particularly courteous. The restaurant at which we had dinner was nice with attentive and responsive staff. The venue is felicitous and the staff congenial.
