Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesWait staff in the mornings were not attentive. People like at least a cup of coffee in the morning, but staff if you could find them were not in any hurry to seat and then deliver. This was at 8-8:30. Seems like they could have been ready for guests at that hour.
Front desk staff very attentive. The Fitz is our "go to" hotel when in NYC. Convenient. Quiet neighborhood. Walkable to midtown. Good breakfast opportunities. Excellent dinner options within a walkable distance. Irish music in the bar Friday night was amazing!

Irelandthe air conditioning was very good when working but it stopped working and we had to call reception 3 times to restart it. there is a big gap from the floor to the front door which felt like we had no privacy if making any noise. i prefer a removeable shower head but it was fine. not every room had a fridge as we were in 2 rooms. 0 view from the windows which is expected for NYC.

United StatesNo towels, and I checked in at 8pm, so that was odd. Restaurant was chaos and food was mediocre, though if you want to drink, it is a good hangout place for that. I was tired. I walked to the Fitzpatrick Hotel, which is a DIFFERENT hotel, so then took a taxi BACK to Grand Central. Also, the a/c was not functioning so they had a stand-alone unit in the window. I realized there were no towels at 11pm, too late for room service and did not want the intrusion. It was a bummer. Room was also hot, but the unit worked fine once I turned it down. No compensation for the issues because I booked with Booking.
The staff were superb, but when let them know about the lack of towels in the room, they could not compensate for that.

United StatesTwo main things. One I got to the room and there were no remote controls! I called and no one brought them up despite being told that they’d be brought up. Nearly six hours later I went down to get them and a kind person apologized and brought it up. Biggest issue! Upon departure (thank goodness) I found a mouse in the room. I freaked out a bit and it scurried along the wall. They looked surprised downstairs when I mentioned this. It’s New York! I think some additional precautions would have been nice to abate this issue.
Great location! I was welcomed and invited to store luggage. I requested a high floor room but since that was not available when I wanted to check in, they generously gave me a suite - room 201!

United StatesA party nearby seemed to create sonic vibrations. It was over when I got back from dinner.
My grandparents were from Ireland and this hotel reminded me of how they lived. It's modern and yet the Irish influence makes it very different from most NYC hotels. Waiting in the lobby until check-in turned into an unexpected immersion into Irish socializing by Irish flight crews. Their brogues brought back so many memories for me.

Bath robes were not in room, had to ask for them & was given one, despite two of us in room. Only given 2 teabags, despite 3 night stay..had to ask for more. Really liked hotel but felt lacking in lots of areas & not what I had previously experienced.
