I wish the bed was bigger (it was a full sized bed). A queen sized bed would have been sufficient. Ice trays or an ice maker would have been nice too.

We stayed in the Chief's room and it was fantastic! Very spacious with a living room and kitchenette. It was more like a small apartment than a hotel room. I also loved that there was a restaurant with a full bar downstairs. They had live music while we were there and the band was really good.

What a delightful inn with tasteful and cozy accommodations that included thoughtful touches for the perfect stay! We were escorted to the room and shown the features, it was extremely quiet, the bed was comfortable, and it was so much fun to stay surrounded by the fascinating historic treasures.

There is no main check in for the rooms. You must enter into the restaurant and wait for someone at the bar to check you in.

The history of the building was amazing! The displays and pictures were very well done.

It was difficult to arrive with no one in building. Since I was on my own, I had no idea there were 21 steps up to my accommodation. This was taxing, as well as not knowing if anyone else was staying there or not. No staff around for first two days of three.

Good, large room in a well-maintained old Fire House. Frig, microwave, sink all helpful additions.

I don't think we had A/C and it got a little warm and muggy at one point. But the ceiling fan did a great job of cooling off the room so we were fine.

Location was perfect for being central to activities in VT. Drove in from Boston Logan and it was a beautiful easy drive. The room was comfortable, the check in was easy (they were SO accommodating when we had a later arrival than expected). It was super fun staying in this really cool historical building too. Lots of fun pictures and artifacts to look at in the hallways. Convenient having a restaurant and bar downstairs. We loved the food and service. Bed was comfortable, room and bathroom were spacious (we were in the Captain's Suite).

Really, everything was wonderful, but, it did take a while for the hot water in the shower to heat up.

I loved the convenience of being able to have dinner right within the place where we were staying. Our room was very spacious, and the bathroom was huge! I really enjoyed the "ambiance" of the historic building.

Huge place, unique in upstairs of old firehouse, super clean, modern with historic charm, and great restaurant downstairs. You check in at the bar and they personally show you to your room. Will stay there again.

Disappointed the tavern was closed. Not many options for dinning within walking distance of the firehouse inn. The city of Barre needs to address the issue of panhandling and vagrants.

This was our second stay at the firehouse inn. It's a unique property . They have done an excellent job refurbishing the former firehouse into an inn

Need to label in the parking lot somewhere so guests know where to go for the rooms (in the back door where the restaurant is)

We loved the quaintness of this being in an old fire station! There is a restaurant on the first floor and the rooms for guests are upstairs. We did end up eating dinner in the restaurant downstairs, and it was very good. Staff very friendly. There was live music, but it ended early enough not to disturb the guests staying over upstairs. Our room was up to date and clean. This is one of those places that you just look around (restaurant and upstairs) and see so many things that are antique or nostalgic from the past. And the owner must love Halloween because the restaurant was fully decorated. Very enjoyable stay and great find as we made our way around New England to enjoy the fall foliage.

Curtains didn't stay shut and the light kept shining in our eyes in bed. Adding blinds would be helpful.

Nice location in downtown Barre. Ate dinner at the restaurant downstairs, which had good food and excellent service.

Carrying bags upstairs but we were aware of that when we booked. Not an issue for us.

A unique place to stay. Very large, area with room to cook if you wished. Has a nice kitchen area with new cabinets with everything you may need. Bed was very comfortable and the shower worked great. We enjoyed our stay at this historical building and had a great meal, excellent service, and and good music as well. Highly recommend.
