Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe noise in the room (I had earplugs so it was not a major issue but I would have trouble to sleep otherwise and the breakfast room, which is small and thus comically packed after 8:00.
The location and the very nice staff.

ColombiaIn two of the four nights I spend there some type of alarm went off, on the second night it was the fire alarm and everyone was exiting the building in panic. I know space is an issue in NY but it was difficult to find a table during breakfast
The location is great, the staff was friendly, the breakfast options were good, the room was clean and comfortable.

TurkeyRoom is tooooo small. We were with a 3 year old and had a king size bed reservation and we were miserable.
Location is good, walking distance to Empire State/Times Square and other attractions. Breakfast is fine and helps to get comfy, not looking around in the morning to properly eat something - which is really hard in NYC. Wifi is really good and fast.

GermanyWe would have liked a little more variety at breakfast, a few tomatoes, cucumbers or slices of cheese would have been enough.
The location in the flower district was incredibly good, you had direct subway connections at 28th street on 6th and 7th avenue. It was perfect for exploring the city. Rooms were spacious and well equipped by New York standards.

IsraelWe had issues with the air conditioning and were moved to a different room. The hotel should consider upgrading the A/C system.
The hotel is on a lovely flower-lined street, close to the Empire State Building and Macy’s. The staff was very helpful – special thanks to Darren for his great tips! Free bottled water at the front desk was a nice bonus.

LuxembourgThe hotel equipment is not the newest and the rooms are quite narrow, but this is standard for a hotel in Midtown.
Darren at the Front desk always had a big smile on his face and tried to help us out to make our stay more enjoyable whenever he could! Overall the employees of the hotel were extremely friendly and service-oriented, also Tina at the breakfast buffet was amazing with our little kids.

IndiaRoom did seem a bit cramped (room with two double beds) but probably to be expected given the prime manhattan location.
Location is great, very easy access to most major landmarks tourists will want to cover, as well as subway stations and bus stops close by. Staff was great, very friendly at reception. Few extras were certainly appreciated, such as the free waterbottles (as many as you need through your stay), all day availability of free coffee, tea and hot water, as well as some delicious cookies at tea time. Breakfast buffet was nice with a great mix of items, but they could change it up a bit from day to day. We stayed 7 days and the only thing that typically changed was the type of sausage. The rooftop terrace is very nice when the weather is good. Microwave is available in lobby. The hotel is on the flower street so everyday the street was lined up with beautiful plants and flowers for sale.

BrazilRoom size and price! Too small and expensive.
Location. The hotel is well located in the NYC dowtown. It is near subway station (red line) and the greatest part of the city attractions like Madson square garden, train station, Times square, Empire state, Vessel, Radiocity, Rockfeller center, bakeries, markets, etc. Central park is a little bit far from the hotel, but of course one can walk till there. Breakfast is also good. Simple, but good! Staff was very attentive too.

South AfricaHousekeeping wasn’t that great and we had to request coffee and tea as they hadn’t replaced from the day before. The deposit of $50 a day was also a bit of a shock as we were totally unaware of this.

IrelandWe booked a 2 double bed room as we were a party of 2 adults and 1 child. We found the room quite tight for space with limited clothes storage space. Since several visitors showed up at the breakfast area in their pyjamas, management should consider a dress requirement for breakfast service. The hotels front could use some upkeep by repairing missing stone facade panels.
Hotel is clean, warm, daily room service and in a great location. 12 noon check out time was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend.
