Nothing I disliked about the property

How often do you get to enjoy a tremendous beautiful house like this? Everything was so large, yet decorated in a way that almost felt intimate. The porches were relaxing. The dining room was elegant. The bedrooms were so comfortable and the beds were great. Even the temperature was good.

Beautiful estate but still needs some refurbishing in various areas.

Breakfast was excellent during our stay (2 days). Locations was ~ 20 miles from our destination, but it was just far enough away to relax from a busy graduation weekend.

Great staff. Fabulous breakfast. Coffee delivery in AM before breakfast as getting ready for the day. Unique decorations in The Explorer suite. No TV in the room. WiFi available although we did not use it.

Above and beyond- one of the nicest places we ever stayed- host is amazing and this place is done right. No room for improvement, perfect as is! We will be back for a longer stay- also town is charming with great dining options!

Nothing , even a little problem we had with our bathroom was sorted out without any fuss and nothing was too much trouble .

Very welcoming, both Richard and John as well as the lovely maids made us feel very much at home. The whole house was comfortable and set in a particularly peaceful neighbourhood. It was just like having your own villa with a fabulous breakfast chef serving you a beautiful tasty breakfast in an impressive dining room each morning. We parked the car on arrival and were able to do everything we wanted by foot as the town centre was only a 15 minute walk along a quiet residential road. We could spend as much time as we wished during the day and evening relaxing in our room which had a lovely sitting area or outside on the veranda or downstairs in the lounge areas. Probably the most relaxing six days we have ever spent on holiday

The owner has a cat I only got to play with her once :) A friendly little thing :)

The staff was wonderful. The room (Explorer) was well furnished to include a sitting room. No frig in the room but they do give you "run" of the house. The dining room , Parlor, Bar room, etc. A beautiful B&B in a great location.

Shower head was leaking and spraying everywhere.

Breakfast was great! I loved the house, the quaint feel and the 1800's styling. The bed slept great!

Using Booking.com it was not apparent that breakfast wasn't included in a "Bed & Breakfast". We did arrange for 1 day and it was excellent, but I thought that was strange for the overall concept of a bed and breakfast concept

I appreciated that the house has been lived dearly for an 1820 home

Stay wasn't long enough - had to return to reality.

My wife and I could not have been more pleased with our stay. It's better than the pictures on-line. The bed was so comfortable, and the room was spotless as well. The weather was perfect which allowed us to have a wonderful breakfast outside on the porch each morning. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. We had a small hiccup with the keypad entry and John did more than make up for the small inconvenience. He was wonderful. We had never been to Washington before but had heard a lot of nice things - it was better than we had hoped for. The Inn is within a short walking distance from the RiverFront which has plenty of places to eat and shop. If you are looking for a wonderful get-a-way, Elmwood is your place! I would give more than 5 Stars if I could.
